What's the highest redline possible with the KA. And how is this acheived?

I use to rev to 8k, but toned it down to 7500rpm. You need a built bottom and head work. I have oversized valves, Ti retainers and dual springs. So far so good cant complain. I dont know about the stock motor though.

What is the peak horsepower/torque?? No need to rev past that, it is stupid.

No need LOL. If you ran my turbo you would know it pulls to 8k without problems. I dont have dyno #'s and I would not post them until I am done w my car anyways. My brother revs to 7500 rpm on his Eclipse(4g63) and he realizes max hp and tourqe @ 7500rpm(363whp) on a 18g Greddy turbo which is way smaller than mine and he didnt have headwork done WHICH I HAVE.

To make good power over 6000-6200, you'll need some good cams and head port/polish at least...

And I believe I read once on here that Sunbelt (who builds Nissan race engines) said the KA won't hold up for too long is continually run over 7500 - Too long of a stroke I believe, among other things.

FYI - In my S14 with I, H, E, JWT ECU, and S13 cams, I make max power (158rwhp) at 5900...so why rev any higher???

Well I ran mine for over a year now and no problems and I beat on my car all the time. I know KA's have a long stroke, but if you build it I dont see a problem. With lighter pistons and rods the car should rev to 7500rpm without worries. Oh btw I also run a UR crank pulley on my car to 7500rpm.Here is a pick of my old setup and head work.

your links don't work. how do you like your oversized valves. i'm asking cause i was gonna go that route, but i saw that the valves were already huge, any bigger and i'd get valve shrouding.

I cant say that I dont like them, but since I did everything @ once I really have no camparison. I use to run a small t3/t4 turbo on my stock motor @ 9psi.Then did the rebuild and got a larger turbo so I can say it sure kicks a$$ and I dont have too much lag. It pulls hard all the way to 7500rpm like I said. Im in the process of upgrading the turbo and intake manifold so I can get more hp out of it.

are those the supertech valves? you got any flow bench numbers on your headwork?

The POS shop I use to deal with lost all the info on the job and BCE doesnt keep records....so they say. All I know its a stage 4 BCE race head. Im still playing catch up since I started working on my car myself. That shop really put me behind, but all is good now.
