How do I prime the oil up to the oil squirters when my starter does not work yet? My starter checked out ok when I took it in but it does not work when on my car, just makes a clicking noise. http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/confused.gif So I have to push start it but when I did for the first time the oil light came on and there was a knocking sound from under the valve cover.I turned it off.

-So will cranking the engine over by hand and a wrench be enough to get the oil primed to the top of the engine?
-And should I take the oil pan off and pound it out just to be safe and while its off should I should anything to the oil pump?

I have looked up other post but none of them say anything about priming it WITHOUT the starter working.

Or should I Just start by fixing the Starter?

Any help would be great. Thanks
