I've been told that with a 5spd. (and good shifting...) it should run in the low 8 second range. I don't know about the 1/4 though.

According to an issue of car and driver, the 91 240SX was timed at a 0-60 of 7.9 seconds, and a quarter mile of 16.1 @ a trap speed of the mid 80s mph. I'm positive of everything but the trap speed. hope this helps...

PS. this is for the 5 spd SE, equipped with the Super HICAS system.

Road & Track gave a 91 with SuperHICAS a 0-60 of 8.3 and a 1/4 of 16.3. I was kind of insulted but whatever. Sometimes I wonder if they shifted at redline or at peak power. Anyways, most times I've heard of average out to about 8.1 and 16.2.

Damn 16.2 ...must be nice.. I ran a best of 16.9 at Palmdale (2000 ft above sea level) with a bad MAF, knock sensor that was pulling ignition back. I average 17.5. Good thing for bracket racing. http://www.freshalloy.com/

LMAO, with 145k on my motor and a bent valve, smoking bad, bad piston rings, and a bad Wrist Pin. I had a custom 2.5" exhaust done from right after the cat back. the Muffler thingy after the cat was just cut off, and i have a maxspeed muffler. A ractive Intake. I pulled 16.3 in the 1/4 mile. now if you check my Mods on the forum you will see my new mods. I am shooting for a 15 flat.

Well, hopefully next month I'll run alot better time.. this time I'm either replacing the Knock sensor before I run or pulling the connector off. I've checked with an MDM-100.. it does make a difference with and without the knock sensor connected. My car has NOW, custom intake with CAI, 2.5" crush bent exhaust. Those were my mods when I ran last time, which was about 6 months ago.

My car was near stock and i ran a 16.3 E.T and the trap was in the mid 80's.
I had a HKS intake and Apexi N1 (3 inch)cat-back.
BTW: it was in dear need of a tune-up (and still is). not to mention it was my first time at the track.

Is disconnecting the knock sensor pulling the plug that connects to the bottom of the distributor (on a SOHC or DOHC)
thanks

With a 1400rpm launch and CAI, 2.5" Catback exhaust, I ran a 16.436 @ 86.25MPH.
With the addition of the JWT ECU I ran a 15.723 @ 87.81MPH.
AND a launch at 2200rpm gave me 15.443 @ 88.82MPH.
SIR is open with the 1st Import meet next month. So I am working on breaking the 15sec barrier.
P.S.S.S.S.... I DO NOT strip the vehicle. I run loaded as I drive it daily.
I just may do an accessories removal just to see if any big diff. after I run normal times though.

I have a DOHC (1991 240sx). It's the orginal motor, as far as I know. Anywaz... if you open the hood and look at the engine, it's the plug that's next to the water temp sensor. It's a snap on (2 wire) type. You can follow that wire back in to the intake and see where the knock sensor is connected. The wires are wrap in wire loom.
