My First Upgrade was to replace the pop ups with the East Bear kit.
Lighting was somewhat more than your std H4 conversion,
however the H3 Lenses that come with the kit are not headlamps, merely driving lights so the beam pattern is concentrated in one spot.

Next Upgrade was to replace the IPF Lenses with some "Real" Lights made by Hella.
These are the DOT Spec Lenses, both High and Low Beam.
They come with H9 65watt bulbs which are the highest output halogen on the road today.

Comparison Lumens Specs:
H9 @ 12V = 1870lm
H9 @ 14v = 2534lm
HID D2R = 2800lm
HID D2S = 3200lm
H4 = 1650lm
9007 = 1350lm
H3 = 1450lm

1)What is involved in the wiring for the standard east bear kit (before your HID conversion)?

2)You mentioned that the standard east bear lighting was somewhat more (light) than the H4 conversion, so would I be correct in saying that the standard east bear lighting is an improvement over stock. I've heard otherwise.

3)I'm interested in the kit. What would you give it overall? Installation ease, lighting, fit and finish etc?

Much props on you car http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif

More light isn't necessarily an improvement. The light distribution pattern of the East Bear lights (which you can see in the comparison pic) is far from ideal.

Now that is an upgrade. If my car stays a street car, I might have to get that kit. It looks it would kill my Hella H4s.

I am a hella retailer; you can get them from any Hella Retailer. The lamps are listed in their catalog:
http://www.hellausa.com/maineng/lev1b/lev2bb/lev3bbf/index.html

Don't be fooled by this install, its looks straight forward, but I have many hours of custom fabricating, cutting and fitting involved in this install. The lamps
dont quite fit for length so the rad support must be cut and modified.

Not for the weak of heart or light of wallet http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

Wiring for the east bear kit is very good, all high quality wiring, weatherproof connectors and Relay. Its a plug and play, literally takes 5 minutes.

Props to Wayne, from Phase 2 Motortrend for being such a good guy and bringing these wonderful kits into the country http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif

i notice there is a small fingertip gap around the hella lamps. are you going to do anything to fill in that gap?

In that same pic, look at the headlight on the passenger side.

I think the passenger side is still the lights that came on the EB kit, while the dirvers lights are the Hellas.
