so i had this phantom slip laying around and i felt it necessarry to try it out on one of my friends cars to test it for a month or two, to makes sure it works good. i will eventually throw it in my car, probably.. and i needed the expereience in working on the rear end of a S13.. (i'm too used to z31)

i heard the phantom is bad for turning, can you comment on that? (no better than open differential)
how exactly does the phantom grip work?

Thx247

Phantom for Honda's is basically a locking diff. I imagine for nissans is the same. I know I've never seen someone road racing with a phantom. They work great for drag though.

Here is their URL. I know it says they act like a limited slip, but afaik thats not true. They act like a locking diff.
Phantom LSD What is it? (http://www.phantomgrip.com/whatis.html)

well we did donuts for almost 5 minutes with it

and drifted about 6 or 7 90 degree turns and 180 turns. back end is very predictable..

Well I'm not knocking it or anything. Just from what I have been told by people with they are a full locking diff and not limited slip.

That's my goofy ass in the red shirt.

It went into my car. I'll let you all know how it does me after I run my 12 second pass in a couple weeks.

I'm sorry, but everytime I look at you in that pic, it looks like you just said: "I almost had you, man!". Then Mattback is about to say: "You NEVER had me. You never had your CAR." http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif

Isn't retail on that $399? You can get a whole R200V salvaged for less, and it's easier to install. Seems like pissing in the wind to me.
