hey all... long time no see. http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/cool.gif

I've got a few questions about the SR20DET motor we all know and love... some super easy some not so commonly known... I've tried google a few times and the search on this site has been down since god knows when...

well, let's just get right to the heart of this thing...

-stock rod length? I can't find this anywhere.
-closed or open deck? (super easy one i just forgot it's been so long i've seen an SR20DET apart) http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif
-pics of pistons wanted!
-compression height of piston
-wrist pin diameter
-BE con rod journal diameter

thank you all, help is very much so appreciated!! http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif

i already know the bore and stroke... heh... thanks anyway, man... i was 99.99% sure it was a closed deck, but i just had to double check even something i was that sure of...

anyone got some good tech sites for SRs and shiat?

136.3mm rod length

32mm piston compression height

11.2cc piston dish (you didn't ask for this one, but you get it anyway).

Crower lists the specs for their SR20 connecting rods as:

2.008" BE bore (need to subtract 2x bearing thickness and bearing clearance to get journal diameter)

0.896 BE thickness

0.866 pin dia (full floating pin would be a hair smaller)

0.860 pin end thickness

s14 sr20de, s14 sr20det both seem to have full floating pin, and pin diameter for both seem to be 22mm, stock.
and since part #s are same for s13, i'd imagine the specs carry over to s13 generation sr.
checked s15 spec, same 22mm full floating pin.

Hmm??

The english-language S14 SR20DET FSM that's floating around the net disagrees. It specifies an interference fit for the pin and piston.

Piston pin hole diameter: 21.987-21.999mm
Piston pin diameter: 21.989-21.001mm
Interference fit: 0-0.004mm .

does it show specs for two grades of pins and pistons? grade 0 and grade 1.

diameter of grade 0 pin; 21.989 to 21.995
diameter of grade 1 pin; 21.995 to 22.001

full floating is mentioned twice in the s14 new car spec guide, once in the s15 new car spec guide.

all measurements are taken at ambient temp of 20deg-c.

wouldnt full floating make sense as there are oiling holes in the bottom of the wristpin journals..

in my boooks, i read: -0.004 ~ 0
there are two characters right after the -0.004 in ( ), but i can't decode them for my understanding.

Nope, it does not. Strange.
