Just need help figuring out how to dispose of a lsd. My friend went to japan and bought me an lsd for a good price. what he got me was a cusco 1.5 way lsd for an r180 differential, i believe it came with the ca18de.Problem is i have an r200 diff and the lsd doesnt fit. Well anyways I can t seem to really find to much info. id like to sell it or find out if i can get a r180 diff. if not does anyone know what othe r car might be able to accept this lsd. Someone on this forum told me it could go into an s30, tooo bad i dont know what that is...lol... this really sucks.. thanx

if it will fit in a standard CA18DE R180 diff i'll take it off your hands for a resonable cost.

This LSD should fit a 240z or 260z only, the old 280z's had R200s like we do. Zcar.com (http://www.zcar.com) has a good active old Z parts classifieds section, you can probably sell it there. Hell, if I still had my old 240z, I'd probably buy it from ya...

Does anyone know where i could purchase a r180 diff. And if so would it bolt on to the ka drive shaft or would lengths become an issue.

R180 diff can be had at a junkyard pretty cheap I'd assume. But just like the R200, there are a couple variations, and I wouldn't be the one to tell you which one to get. I did however, rebuild one of these for my 240z and its a descent diff if you dont plan on putting too much power through it. 250ft-lb torque rating is what I hear for the later 4-spider gear version (came in S12 chassis, NA, with 4.11 gear ratio, this is the one you would want to get). The splines on the old one wont bolt up to your halfshafts, they have 4 bolts on either side, the R200 in your car now has 6... The old version from the 240z also has a 3.36 gear ratio, so it would suck in your 240sx. Don't know about the halfshaft bolt pattern on the S12 diff.

Good thing about these diffs... they are plenty available from junkyards for about 30 bucks (get the s12 NA one), and they weight less than the R200 (more than 20lbs difference is what I hear, but don't quote me on that).

Having said this, I was going to stick with the R180 in my 240z as I think it can do everything the R200 can, but I sold that car, so this is where my R180 knowledge stops I guess.
