Looking to get some new wheels/tires for my 95 240sx. The wheels will be 18 inch Racing Harts. What is the ideal size for this combo? Correct offset, etc.?

I will be looking to lower the car with springs only. Also, what are the best springs for this application? I heard Eibach and H&R, but what is a good drop(in inches) for the car adn the wheels?

Thanks!

it's all in what u want out of the set-up and how u plan on driving your car. everyones taste and set up is gonna be diffrent. as far as ideal size and offset? will u be upgrading to Z32 brake calipers? how wide do u want the wheels? flush with fender or within the well? thing's like that will help get a answer for u. i personally think anywhere in the 1.7/1.4 to 1.75/1.75 range would be a good amount to lower a 240. anything lower than that will probably have u bottoming out and seeing some neg. camber problems(excessive inner tire wear) because your choosing to ride on stock struts and such. u might wanna check out "http://www.tirerack.com" for more info on offsets and camber and stuff that teaches u what everything means. they also sell eibach springs, that's where i got my eibach pro-kits http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks for the response. This is going to be a daily driver 240. I just got into the whole Nissan thing, so my knowledge is slight thus far.

What looks better on the 240s, wheels flush or wheels in? With 18s and a 1.7" or so drop, what would be an ideal width, front and back? Not looking for anything too extreme here, just a good fit for the large wheels. Any personal suggestions or advice?

Wheels in...I like to sink em a good 3 or 4 inches. If you run a narrower wheel you can fit a higher offset and sink it in all the way.

My car is SUNK!

ROFL you [censored]!!! DOnt listen to the Kookiburrito, he has ADD! Get 18x9 +30. if you cant find them, go to a different company. Don't settle for FWD offsets on 18x7 wheels. Not worth it at all...

Okay, I'm looking at the Racing Hart CP8s, 18x7.5, tires in 235/40/18...is this a good setup? Would a Eibach drop of 1.2"/1.0" do the job?

Remember, this is a daily driver with future kit...so nothing too low. Would this work?

Thanks

18x7.5, tires in 235/40/18

i have RH C2's in 18x8.5 with a +32 and a 10mm spacer.. it brings it right out lookin nice with the fender and allows room for 300zx brakes...it's just gonna be a little tight for coilovers ,also a 245/35/18 fits on there nicely

Okay, here's a new idea since I can't find the wheels I want within the $$ allowed...

http://wheelmax.com/Wheels/5zigen/n1brz-sm.gif

The sizing options are as follows- 17x8 or 17x9. Tire choices are 225/45/17 or 245/45/17.

What is my best bet? With 17's, I might look to drop a little lower, say 1.7"/1.4". What do you all think?

Nice choice on wheels. In the front do the 17x8 with the offset being between +20 to +30, no higher. In the rear do the 17x9 with offset being between +35 to +38. With that you will be flush with the fender all the way around and you wont need as much of a drop to make your car *look* lower (less visible wheel well). Sportlines will put you right on the tire, pro kit will leave a finger or two between the top of the tire and the top of the wheel well.

Here is a pic of my racing hart C2 3piece 18x7.5 18x9 with offsets of +22 and +38 (front and rear respectively): (i know its an s13 but you get the idea)

Thanks for the detailed help- just what I was looking for! Your car looks clean with those 18s!

Looks like I will be doing the 17s, and probably the Eibach Sportlines. Will I need that correction kit with the springs, do ya think? Will there be any pre-known rubbing, or does it just happen to certain cars for different reasons?

Thanks again

Nah, go with 17x9 +30 in the rear. It fits better and mor flush, since there is more room back there. It really DOES depend on the wheel (like aubrey's +38) but I would suggest +35 to +25 for the rear, 17x9. But thats just me. No lower than +38 THATs for sure http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

hehe, no its bc i am your friendly ricer who bought the expensive as s wheels but couldent afford the center caps http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif Actually, i got them used with tires and the guy said he was going to try to get them for me. I checked around and the caps go for $400 a set ....ouch, i think i will put that money elsewhere for the time being and keep my eyes peeled for a deal.

make sure you post if you find a deal, right now i have 4 of the real old C2's caps...they're carbon fiber and just say "Type C" on them. and also i have 2 of the new silver ones. i'de really like to get 2 more of the silver ones for a set.

Aubrey-
What size tires are you running (front and rear) with those 18s, if you don't mind me askin'?

Problem- the bolt pattern for those Black Racing wheels are only in 4x100, where I guess my 240 needs the 4x114.3

Dammit, those won't work then?

What do you all think of these wheels- one of the few I found with correct configs- I remember someone on this board talking about them...fat lip...mmmm

Anyone know of some 17s that might fit, in bronze or GM??? Anything, I'm getting desperate(but not too $$)

18x7.5 +22?? 225/40/18 fronts (37??)
18x9 +38 255/35/18 's in the rear

I think this is Aubrey's set up, its what I based my tires from. Im cap less too.

exactly how much money were u planning on spending? what is not to much money? jus might help get u some better quality replies. i think if your gonna go with 18x8 or wider, there is no cheap way out of that man. even if u get out on rims, tires are another issue. i say jus be patient and get exactly what u want, cause either way your spending money, might as well be totally satisfied than save a couple hundred and have regrets

I was planning on spending no more than $1400, for 17s or 18s(with tires). Finding wheels for this type of car is a little different than what I was used to.

What do you all think of the above gm wheels?

Any other suggestions as to some reasonable, wide, good looking 17s?
