I currently have a 2001 Jeep Gr. Cherokee Limited V8. You think the FX35 will cost more or less for insurance?

Does leasing raise insurance?

HA! I'm 23 and i'm paying 570 CAD a month w/ 1000 deductable. Clean record, insuarnce broker says premium will go down once i turn 25. DAMN 2 more years left.
I hate Canadian insurance (esp. in toronto). Its too expensive.

I had a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD, and my insurance went up $100 dollars. I am switching carriers and it is lowering it to a $40-50 dollar jump. I hope this helps.

Mine went up $60 for 6 months for a AWD FX35, I was driving a 2002 TransAm before that. This is with Progressive, and they said they didnt have a calculated rate for it yet, this was based on price and SUV so they said. $375 for 6 months

I called my agent with Farmers Insurance and they said it would go up $100 per month. They did not have the fx35 listed so I think they based it off price. This will put me at $1750 every 6 months for 100/300/100 coverage.

Too much for me, anybody recommend a good insurance co.

Ummm ,are you sure that is an extra $100 per month?? Maybe an extra $100 every 6 months sounds right. Unless there are extreme situations on your driving record. My rate for an FX 35 Sp/Tec is $650 every 6 months, with max coverage and minimum deduct. Agent is State FArm.

410$ for the coupe
515$ for the FX 35
(every 6 months) deductibles are 250$ for both and includes the "keeper"
The keeper will pay for a replacement cost without a loss of money for the first 2 years....

Man, where do you live Psylence? Here in Los Angeles I was quoted $1800 - $1900 a year by my insurance company. (That was based solely on the purchase price of an FX45 w/tech as the FX model wasn't in their system yet, but does include a corporate discount and multiple policy discount for having my homeowner's insurance with the same company.)

WHOA!!!!!!! You must have some serious points on your Lic.??? or be in the high risk pool??? http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

that $250 is for the year, I have no points, nothing but I do live 7 miles from Newark, NJ. For those who don't know about Newark, It was the car theft capital of the US for many, many years. When a car gets stolen in NJ---it ends up in Newark.

It depends on where you live...and if you are in a metropolitan area or not, as well as your age and record...and then what level of coverage you have as well as deductibles. I have no points, no tickets of any sort, no acidents or claims, I'm 47 and live in the Atlanta metro area, and my insurance is $1900 a year. I lived in Charlotte, NC 2 years ago and had 2 brand new vehicles with combined value greater than the value of my FX, and my insurance was half what it is here in GA.

I was just quoted $1700 dollars per year for my FX35 AWD Tech through 21st Century Insurance. They Rank right behind Amica, AAA, and State Farm in JD Powers 2002 Survey.
100K/300K Body & Uninsured Medical 5000 Comp $100 Collision $500. Tow and rental included. This is the best I found for an AM BEST A+ Company who is ranked 4th in CA according to JD Powers 2002 Survey. OH, I got $400 Knocked off because I have a BS in Sciences, but I also have 1 point on my driving record.

I live in Central NJ about 45mins to an hour away from NYC. And i have a clean record. NJ lost MANY carriers do to REALLY stupid state laws. Now are our doctors are closing shop and running away because there insurance is doubling in price =\ I am probably going to move to NY soon as i will not have half as many problems getting insurance.

On a side note, Anyone live in central new jersey who has recieved a good quote on the car? Care to share your provider?

In AZ, I'm paying $1121 per year on the FX35 2WD, that's about $200 above my 2000 Maxima SE which I traded in. Quite reasonable, I feel. Have 2 car discount, safe driver, advanced degree discounts.

That's exactly right. I just got our revised insurance estimate for the FX35AWD w/SPT, which is an upgrade from a 1993 G20. We live near Hartford, CT and are in our early 40s. Cost went up $138 each 6 months with Prudential. Now, keep in mind we have high limits: 250/500/250 with full towing and glass coverage and a $500 deductible. We also have a clean record, a homeowners policy with the same company, plus a $2M umbrella. So the $138 isn't too bad.

What's really gonna hurt is the property tax on this car. I have no idea how much that will be. Me and my accountant are sure glad it's deductible off my taxes!
