I am parting with my G35C coupe,leather/sunroof etc and getting a new 2004 Maxima with all the goodies. I really like the G but am even fonder of the new Maxima. I am suprised by the passion on this forum. If you don't like the new Maxima don't buy it. Or do like me,fall in love with a new car every 6-12 months and waste a ton of money. It does help to have a friend in the business. Enjoy cars, they are a quality of life issue and this is supposed to be fun.

Is this some sort of cruel joke?? What kind of insanity is this anyway? I mean, hey, I am all for Maxima's. Crap, I even own one, but I would NEVER trade a G35C for one!! No, no, no!!!

I need to sit down! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

osa, assuming you are legit and not here to make fun of Obi (hey, whatever floats your boat http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif)... no disagreement on your points.

We are, however, fully anticipating a somewhat-detailed explanation of WHY you find the Maxima more intriguing than a G35 Coupe. I understand you like to trade cars often, but the Coupe is something no Japanese automaker except perhaps Lexus (SC300/400) has ever done. 1993-2002, Infiniti did only the QX4 and a bunch of 'arguably milquetoast' sedans... the Coupe is like the Second Coming you know. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

So let's hear your defense of the Maxima.

I just cant see waisting all of that money trading in cars that often. No tsaying you do this but so many do this to "impress" others and end up so far in debt its rediculous.

The point is that he can and he wants to. It's a frivolous sort of activity, but, it's his money not yours. If you'd rather be Homer Simpson and spend more money on beer and pay-per-view programs, hey, that's okay with us.

Did you test drive the Maxima ?

Or are you one to cruise around and not floor it ?

I am getting the Maxima primarily for the size differental and the fact I play a lot of Pro-Ams and generally we take four and my partners are tired of being strapped to the fenders of C. I drove the Maxima on a 100 mile test drive and found it nearly as responsive as the C except for extreme speeds on curves. When you add that to the exceptional interior and an exterior that I expect will enventually grow on me and I just want to make my move. As for losing money on my many purchases,I have purchased 19 new vehicles since 1987 and the first one had a payment of $199 a month for 60 months and now I spend $500 a month for 60 months, way less than inflation. The dealer is giving me a loaded SE including NAV and trading even for my C with 5k and no Nav.Of course the C will be worth more in the years to come, but who cares,I'll be on to something else in a year.

Thanks for your support. It is my money and I have no need to impress others. What is ridiculous debt to one,is a minor expenditure to others. You can't take it with you and I would hate to leave too much behind.

You would be wrong on the neurotic. I am that bad. When I was drafted in 1966 it lead to my wife and I having a series of used cars that I pushed nearly as far as I drove them. I swore by all that was holy,if I ever reached the point were I could afford new cars I would buy one everytime I got in the mood. I can and it is my main hobby except for golf,weightlifting,skiing,etc.etc. I hoping exploding heads are not fatal. Once I figure out how to send pictures I will subject you to pictures of the cars with me grinning like I'm happy each and everytime.

Obi is not an 'M Type'.

I say, "cool, whatever makes you a happy critter. sit down with a beer and tell me all about your new toy." http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I totally understand...I have a G35C and I dont think you are crazy at all...I love the new Max and wish I could have both cars, but I'm gonna wind up sticking with the G just because I can't afford to take the loss right now on the depreciation. They are both so completely different you can't even really compare the two (hence my desire for both http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif)Post pics when you get it!
