Ummm, why? If sales are already there, and aren't being hurt, why would they dump that kind of cash into their marketing department. For most of the consumers out there, they don't really have anything that's anybetter than what Nissan has. That and Nissan also has rebates on Pathfinder, Sentra, X-terra and Frontier. The deals are actually better on Nissan's than Toyota's.
Toyota:
Camry, Highlander & Solara have 1.9% @48mo. and 2.9% @60mo.
4Runner & Rav4 have 2.9% @ 48mo. and 3.9% @ 60mo.
Corolla & Matrix have 0.0% @ 36mo. and 1.9% @ 48mo.
Tundra has 0.0% @ 36mo. and 1.9% @ 60mo.
Nissan:
'03 Sentra XE, GXE & LTD - $1,500 or 0.9% 12-60mo.
'03 SE-R & Spec-V - $1,000 or 0.9% 12-60 mo.
'04 Sentra 1.8, 1.8S & 2.5S - $500 or 0.9% 12-36 mo.
& 3.3% 48-60 mo.
'04 SE-R & Spec-V - 0.9% 12-36 mo. & 3.3% 48-60 mo.
Altima & '03 Maxima - 0.9% 12-36 mo. & 1.9% 48-60 mo.
Frontier - $1,500 or 0.9% 12-60 mo.
X-terra - $1,500 or 0.9% 12-36 mo. & 1.9% 48-60 mo.
Pathfinder - $1,500 or 0.9% 12-60 mo.
Now, do the math and you'll find that these are better deals. No, http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/rolleyes1.gif I'm not selling right now, I'm just partaking in a debate.

I got my '03 Max financed through Nissan at 0.9% which amounted to like $200 of interest over 3 years which is sweet, plus they gave me 90 days before making the first payment.

I doubt they do this yet on the new Max since I think it is still selling well with demand still ahead of supply. Maybe this winter they will offer 0.9% on the new Max.

I heard on the radio today that the local dealer is selling hail damaged Nissans from the Smryna plant.

The TOYOTA marketing machine marches on, trying to convince everyone to GET THE FEELING and co-opt into the TOYOTA system by falling for the advertising of "great deals" at their 'SUMMER SALES EVENT!' http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Meanwhile, deals are to be had at Nissan and Honda, being Honda, just bees Honda and that means, good product, no discount, smile. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Frontier and Pathfinder not exactly flying off dealer lots, so incentives on them make some sense. XTerra still selling decently as far as I know, if not, they should be in the above pool of available rebates. Sentra? Overstock of 2003 models when new (fugly) 2004s are already here.

Volume sales and general consumer interest are in Altimas and Muranos, so no problem there. Most dealers have limited inventory of 350Zs and Maximas, which along with the Murano are the upscale/higher-end (premium => Infiniti) products to begin with, and should be the last to go on any discount (not likely to happen, as supply is still low enough so that it meets demand roughly right on).

Right, squid?

Just my 2 cents here:

Nissan really needs to get the Sentra, Xterra, Pathfinder and Frontier a new look. I know they are working on everyone of the vehicles I listed except the Sentra.

Anyone know if a totally redesigned Sentra will be coming any time soon?

I think it was posted elsewhere in this forum that the Sentra will be new in 2005.

This article out today from autonews brings the Pathfinder production to the US in late 2004.

Oh about the 0.9 finacing, if you choose to pay it full you get 1.5k off the price right? and that works with the maxima?

Sentra got the tooth for 04, new one coming for 05 I think. XTerra was just freshened likelast year, Frontier is almost totally new within the last 2 years also. Don't know whats up with the Pathfinder. I suspect its either headed for a total makeover very soon or is headed out to pasture if the Murano and XTerra kill Pathfinder sales.

That's the spirit! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Can you believe I never submitted a rating for yas before? Now you're sporting two stars instead of one as a result of an M-Type 5-set. Together we will destroy TOYOTA's hype military-industrial machine complex! guwaaaaa hahaha http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You know, Temple of VTEC doesn't have that "oh no, we are not TOYOTA, sob sob http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/tear.gif " inferiority complex that FreshAlloy has. Someone buys a new Camry and announces it there, and people are like... nice. WTF is up with dat shiet?! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Of course, you could argue that TOYOTA would rather be Nissan... Nissan is twice as profitable per vehicle right now, didn't the average statistics say? So take your 0% and shove it, TOYOTA! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Actually, Toyota is still making more money than Nissan overall. Unfortunately, I forgot where I read it. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/rolleyes1.gif

Even though Nissan makes more money per vehicle then Toyota, Toyota sells ****load of cars and trucks all over the world and makes lot more money then Nissan.
