My friend just recently got a 95 gsx and i plan on racing him. I was just wodering if anybody else has raced a gsx and what chances do i have of beating him with my s14. thanks

You will lose. Badly. They're just plain faster in stock trim.

It all in the driver :-) Drag racing is not the 240's forte. Stock for stock, the GSX is faster than our beloved 240. 200hp and awd, good luck. Just tell yourself "I'm going to win." Hope that helps

The 240sx IS NOT a 1/4 mile car by birth.
Why make it that way.
Take the GSX rolling in 2cd at 35. You should walk away from it fairly easy if your setup correctly.

I use to race my friends 98 GSX (when it was only slighty moded) in my old 91 240SX. My old 240 had almost all bolt ons besides headers and it kept right up with him, even off the line. My old 240SX would beat stock/slighty moded turbo DSM's. Once he got his bigger turbo and everything though it was all over though. So now I have to race him with my KA Turbo and we are about even. I say race him and see what happens, get a GOOD start and you should have a slim chance of keeping up with him if you are moded at all. What mods do you have done to your 240SX?

turbo Eclipses have 210-horsepower stock, not 200, btw. You will get eaten alive. Don't feel bad; I sold my 195-horse Prelude to get this truck, hehe. One thing the 240sx has is potential.

Man.. you would get spanked. But if its just your friend, then race him just for the hell of it, no hard feelings, just bragging rights.

Man my buddy Tom has a 97 GSX with an 18G turbo, Greddy Boost controller, Apex-i AFC, upgraded fuel pump and all I have is a 1989 240SX with a SR20DET http://www.freshalloy.com/ Stock intercooler, a cheap a$$ exhaust and a $6.95 boost controller and I eat him alive

Man I smoked a GSX at the local 1/8 mi track last week with an Injen CAE, and APEXi N1. .... He redlighted, and I took him out of the import competition. http://www.freshalloy.com/

I raced a friend that owns a '97 Talon TSi (same car, in case you didn't know) with my stock s13 (w/ K&N drop in). I got a much better launch (he was new to driving a stick) so I had a jump on him... till the turbo kicked in and he pulled away... we raced till about 80 and he was about 1 and 1/2 car lengths ahead of me. My brother had a 90 tsi Awd and just with a few cheap mods was down to 14.8 in the 1/4.

My friend has a 90 black Tsi AWD and with few cheap mods as well he is pulling mid to low 13 on a stock IC and exhaust. Don't even try if its not for fun. http://www.freshalloy.com/

My guess is that you would be .5-1 second behind.

I just bought a 1990 Eclipse GS Turbo (FWD) wit no mods.... I plan on having someone drive that while i drive my 1990 240Sx wit so many mods its sickening....I plan on whoopin da DSM's butt and i own both hahahah...Yea but anyways just to make it fun i think ill turn the boost up on the dsm and give it a fighting chance ahahahahah...Just thought id share my .02

Where do you guys get this "1/4 mile car" stuff from ?? Have you never experienced a street car that does it ALL very well ?... or does nissan prescibe YOUR parameters for you ? just curious.
What are M3s, porsche turbos, Z06s, etc.... 1/4 mile cars ?

Race him. Let us know if you could still read his plate when he crossed the finish line. Both cars stock ? no comparison.

Even when you are modified with your turbo 4cyl nissan motor of choice, I think you'd loose mod for mod. Despite being heavier. Those 2.0 DSMs are a force to be reckoned with.... they've earned their stripes.
My buddy has a mid 11sec awd daily driver. It tries to break the headrests form launch throughout the rpm band - no weaknesses.... and NO, IT IS NOT A DRAG CAR!!!

I'll replace my ca18det / s13 with one powered by that great little motor. Of course I'll copy his combination... for my, -240GSX- ?? http://www.freshalloy.com/

I kept up with my cousin's 1g GSX.. side by side from 40mph all the way to 110mph.

We recently found out that one of his cylinders was leaning out and he toasted a couple valves. http://www.freshalloy.com/

you guys should race frfom a roll, and not "drag" start. that would give you a fair adavantage. you may stick with him.

I have had a Talon, they are really fast off the line, easy to cut a 1.7 60 foot enroute to a high 12 with just a 16G, 2.5 exhaust, and fuel pump/nt regulator. Not too shabby.

I have never had a Ka powered car, but i have a SR20 180, just minor stuff like exhaust, and my (old) Talon would smoke that car.
