View Full Version : Is this a good lease deal?

Well my dad had to drop off the title to the dealership for his Jeep beacuse he traded it in so I went with him and took out a Maxima. I must say I was very impressed with it. The torque steer that everyone complains about was there but not nearly as bad as I was expecting and I drove a model without TCS and VDC. So we drew up some numbers for a demo(2000 miles) they have on the lot. It doens't have my navigation I love so much but when I look at the price diff with one that does its not worth it for what I'd pay. Anyways they said with $4500 down(2500 of that being my lude and they will pay my dad the 3000 I owe him on it, so they are giving me $5500, and $2000 of it being money out of my pocket) I will be paying 344 with sales tax a month. I didn't find out the residual yet but the money factor puts me at about 4.4-4.8% financing on the lease which is pretty avg right now. They are selling the car for $31k which is 3000 off msrp.

Cliff Notes
2004 Nissan Maxima SE w/ Driver Prefered package
$344/mo including sales tax
$5500 trade in on 92 100k Prelude SI(3000 goes to my dad for balance of loan)
$2000 out of my pocket
33,500 car for 31,000 cuz its a demo

Any lease deal with a down payment is a bad deal.

Well this is a lease to buy aka really long loan. I just don't have the down payment money to finance one right now and I'm willing to cough up more over time this way to get the car now rather than 1 year down the road.

The price is not right because I just got a Maxima SE (brand new and with navigation) for just $ 31,200.00.
You are just paying too much! I hope you haven't leased the car yet!

Check the car out here!

BTW, mine has the journey package. I didn't like the elite package because the two seat in the back were not enough for me.

Just got a fully loaded SL, Journey Pack, Sunroof, Splashguards, etc. $30,600 ($500 hundred under Factory invoice). With FICO 740+ Money factor should be around .002 and residual around $16k.
