Ok guys, I just went to the tracks last night and I think I didnt do to go. I was wondering if my time looks right.

Heres my time:

Reaction --- .574
60 ft --- 2.405
1/8 ET --- 9.975
1/8 MPH --- 78.13
1/4 ET --- 14.965
1/4 MPH --- 101. 37

Ok, I know my 60 ft time sucks but I'm trapping out at 101 MPH, shouldn't my time be better than 14.965, theres other guys with SR's going 98-100 MPH hitting 13.8-13.9. Tell me what you guys think and also heres my setup.

S13 SR20DET Redtop
HKS Type-S FMIC
HKS SSBOV
Walbro Fuel Pump
Act 6-Puck Clutch
3 inch downpipe
3 inch piping

that 60' needs alot of work...it's tough, but should be 2.0-2.1

Sometimes the conditions aren't there for a good 60......When I go to track my car after I've put something new on I run at 5pm when the sun is setting....2.1 and 2.0's......After there is no sun and the track is cool...I drop to 2.3.

HA! everyone in Phoenix had the oposite problem. too hot durring the daylight hours for good traction. they all waited for the sun to go down and the track to cool off.

Wow... something doesn't sound right. Have you dynoed this setup? That sounds like it should be in the 13's like the others you mentioned. At least LOW 14's with bad 60ft's. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

it doesnt soudn right to me either,
i have a redtop in a s14, running stock boost wit 91octane, also i have less mods than u. i have the walbro, intake, dp, exhuast, and lsd. i ran 13.9 at 92mph for some reason. all other runs was 14.0-14.1 at 97-98mph. with 0-60ft at 2.0-2.4 (need work there)

Check for leaks in the I/C piping!

My friend has close to the same mods. Cept his running the GTspec down pipe and exhaust but with the stock cat. Running off the base PFC map and some 110 mixed with the 91, he ran a 14.1@100 but couldn't hook up at all 2.4 60' all day long at the track. It was preped at all because everyone one running kinda slow too. Saw 2 evo's run high 14's and 1 new STi bust out a 15 and 14 second pass.

Ehrr, he's trapping over 100mph. The power is there to get into the 13's. Something bad is happening early in the run. Lack of traction, bogging, something.

I run consistent 13.8's at 107

with 2.4 60 fts.
so I don't see that being that bad if you can't hook.

thats not too bad. with 12 psi and only intake and exhaust i did 14.18 @ 99 on stock tires. And now i have a t3/t04e 50 trim at 10 psi and could get any better than a 14.29 @ 101 with a 2.1 60ft on 17's. I get slower every time so don't feel so bad. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Something sounds wrong with this.....but we all run at different tracks..and cars will run totally different.

For example I picked up 6mph by going from LACR to Pomona.

I ran a 14.3@96 at 2700 feet elevation. STOCK boost filter and downpipe. 2.3 60'

only ran 14.1 @ 102 at Pomona because of dry rotted tires...elevation 800ft

Whats even more interesting is that someone on this board a while back was able to run a 12.74 with less modes than what you have. SRs are weird! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif What are you using for wheels and tires? Were you rolling on stock wheels, light aftermarket wheels or some bling bling chromey chorme 20s? Did you have any other excessive amount of weight in your car (spare tire(s), jack, full tank of gas, friend(s), girl(s), stereo equipment, random pieces of junk, trash)? Every bit helps! Gut that mofo out!http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have yet to break lower than 14.2 http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif I'm beginning to be known as the local DW of 240s.

Yeah I read something about a guy hitting 12's with a almost stock SR. Well as for tires and rims Im using my stock SE rims with Firestone tires, lol. I know there not the best, but anyways I still got a open diff. Do you guys think if I add LSD I'll hopefully hit 13's?

well the things is for all people is that your sr might not even be stock. because most people who have sr are bascially used and what not. even if u think you have a stock sr, you might not, becasue importer might take off a fmic and whatever to make it look stock. so anyone here can have cams, piston, valve spring, anything upgraded and might not even know, unless you actually open it up. and most people here probably havent open up their motor

The general rule for 60' times is for every tenth of a second that you take off of your 60' will get you 2 tenths of a second off of your q/m time. So a 14.9 with 2.4 60' , if you got a 2.0 60' that should be a about 14.1. Your trap speed would suggest abit faster.

I ran 13.07 @ 110 mph on a 2.5 60' time, dp, fmic, 3" exhuast, 1.5 LSD, on 15 psi. it seems either the SR is fast 13s or so or moderate 14s or so...

Looks like you need more power in 1st and 2nd gear, so more bottom end power. Or it's getting lost somewhere.
You could try a smaller diameter tire.
I'm guessing you cross the line about 5000 rpm?

why are you running race gas? Your set up should be tuned safe for pump, so you running race gas is actually hindering your performance most likely. Race gas is tuned totally different than pump.

Practice practice practice

i did 13.3's with a 2.02 60' on my 2nd time dragging. With fm901 tires and similar setup (except 4.11 rear end)

on 14 psi and 96 octane

i think there is practice that is needed. there is nothing wrong with the car, power wise imo.
