I've upgraded to the z32 master cylinder almost 2 months ago and now my master cylinder leaking brake fluid. I suspect that its leaking from where you put in that jet nipple fitting. Im thinking that the fitting inside may have came loose. I was wondering have any of you that have upgraded your master cylinder had this issue at all. If not how did you get that fitting to stay put. I read on importnut.net that they just tapped the fitting in. I was afraid that I would damage the face of the fitting if I did that. Any ideas guys? Thanks in advance for any help provided.

I only had a leaking issue when I didn't use the cone fitting, but after that was installed I had not problems. That cone piece is actually secured by the thread flare fitting of the brakeline, if nothing is crossthreaded you should have no problems with leaks. The treading forces the cone piece against the inside if the MC. Assuming you used the correct cone piece inside the MC.

Where did you get this cone fitting?

The cone peice I'm refering to is the one mentioned on that importnut web page you sited. The cone was cut out from my old S13 MC. What did you use?

I used the same thing. I guess I just needed some clarifaction on what you meant by cone fitting. What I did was insert the fitting and used my brake you press it in. I'm thinking that it may have come loose or something. I will fully inspect it this weekend. I was just wonder if anyone else had any issues and if so what did they do to solve it.

It really pains me the only place we can find these fittings is in the old MC. There HAS to be a place we can buy them from.

It turns out that the leak wasnt coming from the jet nipple fitting. The master cylinder needed to be rebuilt. Thats what I get for getting a used master cylinder http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif So I purchased a new one and guess what. It already had a jet fitting installed. I was so happy when I unscrewed the cover and saw that there was a fitting already inside.

so how much do new ones run? 150-200 range? Also, do you know what size cylinder you got, or did they just send one of the random Z32 sizes that were used?

New maybe, but if you want a rebuilt one (Ie: autozone) they shouldn't be more than 120 and thats before the core charge, i just bought my 1 1/16 Mc today. Its just in the year you ask for, if you search you'll find the years but for your benifit i'll tell you if you too care for the 1 1/16 MC just ask for a 90-91 Turbo MC. Also if i remember correctly all z32 MC are labeled with the size except the 1' one.

Edit: I took the guess work out for you, look at gforces post at MC sizes: MC size (http://http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB9&Number=67436712&Forum =UBB9&Words=z32%20master%20cylinder&Match=Entire%2 0Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=67 433925&Search=true#Post67436712)

great, last I knew heard about the MC upgrade was that they were random. Good to know there were specific years. Now if I can find who bought my 91 TTZ a while back to rip my MC out, haha. Seriously though, with z brakes front and rear I need to get that MC. Pedal has a bit too much travel for my liking and not quite firm enough (but still stops a lot better than before).

You can adjust the travel of hte pedal if there is too much "dead" travel. unbolt your master cylinder and turn the piston that pushes in the MC so theres less slack.
