How about the lack of interior or keychain hatch unlock and the lack of power lift/close. If they can put it on a Chrysler minivan can't Infiniti do it or is it going to be one of those things they add as the years go on to jack up the price!?

Hrmph. Don't miss either. The hatch unlocks when I unlock all the doors, and I can lift my own tailgate (perhaps you should consider a gym membership http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

And they put a whole lot of other crap on a Chrysler minivan that I don't want either. You want the power sliding rear doors too?

i thinkwe're missing the point of this thread; yes, we dont need the motorized hatch, but, as far as 'premium' luxury goes, its almost an expected ammenity, seeing as the feautre has made its way down the model - chain as of late (the new niss. armada and quest both have the fully auto hatch , no prob.)

i think the new design fx will employ this, and have the self-sealing doors (ala rear hatch of today) and will have.........

Infiniti didn't want someone accidentally hitting the hatch open button and have it crash into their garage door and post repeatedly why it is taking so long to get a replacement hatch, etc.

What is wrong with the Analog Clock. It is one of the things that I like best about the interior.

I think we're missing the point of this car. If Infinit were to add half of what I see people asking for on this board it would be, well...an RX330. And then everybody would be b!tching about how heavy and expensive it is. I don't want an RX330. Checked it, thought hard about it. Nice car, but different.

the clock actually is quite an improvment over the one that was in the G35 coupe ... at least it's lit enough to see that its a clock ... they obviously rethought their clock lighting..

And does add a clasic touch ...

even when I add the aftermarket nav ... I'd prefer to find a mounting location that doesn't make me loose the clock

There are a lot of fancy gagets car manufactures can add to any vehicle, but how much is to much and what level of complexity does it add to building the vehicle?

My view of the FX - an SUV that drives like a sports car (well a close as it can get) without being insanely priced, ala Porsche and puts a smile on my face when I press the gas peddle. That is what I wanted! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif

FX = performance 1st, utility 2nd.

Personally I'd rather have it w/o the motor, (+50lbs. or so). Yah less weight the better on a Performance Crossover.

My view is: that's another thing that will eventually break and will only add to the price of the car. I have the 03 FX35 and only got the premium upgrade. This was partially because of my own cost constraints, but also because I believe that five years down the road the main post on this message board will be "Why the hell doesn't my Nav/DVD system work anymore?"

When buying a first model year vehicle you have to expect bugs and going nuts with all the bells and whistles just increases the chances of getting a defective vehicle. Just my opinion though. I've never been a big fan of Nav systems anyway (I hate the Lexus one) and the idea of watching a DVD or playing a video game in my car? Great idea if you have kids, but I don't. Sorry, that's not my thing. I love the FX as it with the leather upgrade, and pretty much nothing else...
