Anyone have anything good or bad to say about these?

I've heard good things about their new high performance tires in terms of tread wear and noise level, can someone back this up? or are they not worth it?

sumitomo owns dunlop.

sumitomo tire and goodyear are developing some of their tires together.

sumitomo is a third largest conglomerate in japan.

They are good, although they are thinner then normal tires for some reason. Or so everyone on TT.net complains. What I mean as thinner is the tire is more narrow at the edges so it has a thinner apearance. Otherwise they are kickass tires for the $. Alot butter than Kumho's.

If you want a decent set of gumballs, try Kumho Supras 712's. They go for about 70-80 bucks a piece and they are pretty good in the wet. In the dry, they are okay. Alot better then the "S" word - gosh, I can't even bring myself to say it...

These aren't "high performance" tires by any nature, but a good bang for the buck. If your in the bay area, try AutoMax in Oakland. I gotta set of 205/50/15 for about 300 installed.

I have a friend running Sumitomo's on his 328i and they are great. They have good grip and reasonable wear. This is with 4 auto-x events under their "belts" (that was bad)...

Good tire, bad pun.
