After posting all those digital art links a couple weeks back I became very interested in how they are made so I bought one of the programs, Poser5 and signed up for online classes through LVS. This is our second week of classes and I'm starting to understand this stuff a little bit better. Don't mind the two pics under the first one they are posted here for instructors to see. Well anyhow, here's a model I twisted and turned and clothed standing in front of my car in my backyard. It's weak but it's only my second time making a pic.

That's pretty funny that you got really interested and going hardcore.
Not bad for a novice. Can you make concept cars or it's just human bodies?

I screwed up, I didn't "render" the pic and that's why it's cartoon like but when I did "render" the pic and with me not knowing what I'm doing, well the model came out looking very good but my poor car looked like a large VW Bug.........can't have that and I didn't post it LOL. I don't know about making cars on here I'm sure it can be done but ask me in about hmmmmmmmmmmmm 50 years and then I might know http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I didn't make the body itself I just twisted it and turned it and stuck clothes on it. You can make bodies by using pics of real people but that's way out of my league at this time. On the people, you can morph other things on them and change the way they look. Pretty cool program but there's a lot of info in it.

And yeah I've actually gotten hardcore into this and I'm glad because it's the first thing in the 10 years since breaking my back that I have an interest in. I don't know if I'll ever be good enough to make money doing this (doubt it) but at least it's something constructive

Yea, good for you.
You should dabble with other 3D stuff. Don't wanna get really good at something you couldn't make money out of. Bryce is a nice rendering landscape program.
Then there's CAD and Softimage. Big bucks and kinda hard to learn.
You just stay at home right? http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've played with Terragen a little bit and it's a free program. There sure are a lot of programs out there. Yeah I stay home and being winter makes this much easier too. These online classes aren't bad and if you have a problem they respond pretty fast but it's not as good as an actual classroom setting but for 25 bucks, why not!

LOL without that bikini you would see her "body" parts and this is a PG forum, isn't it? This is why I work with the female figures because I don't want to look at the males schmanky http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I changed her a bit and now she at least looks like a normal digital chick. Didn't mess with her eyes or anything but yeah this program is pretty neat.
