View Full Version : 95' s14 converted to 98' slantnose

10-24-2001, 03:21 PM
I went to nissan and found out what it would cost for the slant nose. I'm caparing it the s15 conversion ($5600Can.)I want to do, but might creat too many headaches. Plus the slant nose fits perfect, it's factory for crying out loud http://www.freshalloy.com/
Here's the break down! in Can. Funds
-Lights(projector) $555.00 a peice
-side fenders $291.00 a peice
-hood $475.00
bumper(w/ the lip) $370.00
Around $2500 all together, plus paint, install is easy.

But I'm thinking to go without the bumper and hood, and get a carbonfiber hood that will be intergrated with the new lights, fenders and bodykit.
On the other hand, if i can find somebody that is willing too make $2000 to give up their slantnose, for the 95 then that's ok too! So let me know!
Would you guyz go all out for the s15, or be conservative and stick with the slantnose so you would have money left over for a turbo http://www.freshalloy.com/
I need your help, so post it http://www.freshalloy.com/

Just get the 97-98 Headlights, hood, and bumper. Keep the 95-96 fenders and corners. I've seen it work. IMO it looks very distinct and kinda aggressive. Just a thought.

can you get me a pic, I've never seen that before. Does it look akward at all?
But thanks for the insight.

I would go with the 97-98 lights over the S15 conversion due to the simple fact that YOU HAVE A S14. S15 front ends should stay on S15 cars. This goes for any other generation-change stuff like this. I almost vomited when I saw that Stupid Street article "How to build a S15 Silvia..."

List prices for the headlights should only be $205.95 each, and hood is $330.80. Go back and check their quotes.

Yeah, but his quotes are in canadian funds.

Yes, they are can funds.
Just because it gets cold in the winter doesn't mean we're suckers http://www.freshalloy.com/
But I don't agree with your statement that s14's should stay on s14's, I like to be different, and tend not to follow a crowd. I want my car to be unique!
Thanks for your comments though http://www.freshalloy.com/

there was a place in san pedro,ca that i got some body panels for my honda... each part was less then half the dealer price...

i've been trying to find the busnisss car for the last few months!!
i think it was called west coast body panels or something.... or coast body panels.. it was sort of near DPR..
if i find it i'll post the number here.

You cant use the '95 fenders, the '97 hood will hit(I found out the hard way). Fenders are like $330(U.S) a side too. I was gonna do the conversion when I wrecked my front end untill I found out I needed the fenders & I was low on cash at the time. For some reason the '97 hood is like $60 cheaper than the '95.

I don't think there is anything with doing an S15 conversion onto the S14.....I think it looks awesome...I mean c'mon you can't tell me Ricky Chus' S14 isn't badass with that conversion (if you even know who that is).....I've seen way worse conversions done out there.....if I'm not mistaken the new trend with Honda guys is to convert to the front end of the '97-'98 style 240.....now that hurts (in the same sense it's kinda flattering)...I myself am really thinking about going to the '97-98 front end. I love the menacing look it gives...coupled with Bomex front end, carbon hood..........

10-25-2001, 09:40 PM
enough with the bomex kits already...that kit is played out like no other, thats all you see on 240's in the US...be original, get a different kit

10-26-2001, 01:56 AM
I'm glad you fell that way....just couldn't keep that one to yourself huh????.If you're not aware of it already, with the 240, it's a little more on the difficult side to be different and get a different kit.....why don't you tell me waht kit to get for my S14....C-West, Bomex, Veilside/Erebuni Shogun.....I could name three guys that propably have these kits already...any other suggestions smart guy???? http://www.freshalloy.com/

10-26-2001, 03:24 AM
Its better to only be able to name 2 or three other guys with the kit you want than to have to be a Honda owner and know and see dozens of the same kit at stop lights, in mag's, and on TV. I say go for what you like....Can you justify spending your cash on what other people like? I cant. Get what makes you happy, its your $$$.

10-26-2001, 05:29 AM
Exactly my thoughts.....I just can't stand people who have a bug up their a$$ and take it here and make snide comments on what other people choose to do to thier cars.....hey come to think of it, there are alot of 240 owners that have turbos under the hood also...that obviously is "played" out also...morons http://www.freshalloy.com/

If you were going to do the 97-98 front end conversion, I think you could probably save a lot of money getting used parts. If you can find a junkyard that has a 97-98 240SX that isn't totalled in the front, you could probably get all the body pieces at a good discount.

It is something to consider. Search for used car parts at www.car-part.com (http://www.car-part.com)

Forgive me for ranting guys...that usually isn't my style...it's just that some people annoy the crap out of me with pointless statements such as the one I replied to by sr20det S14......

10-26-2001, 09:52 AM
I tried everything in my area, nothing! except for the rear corner lights from a 97'(picked them up for $200, and got a new center peice from nissan, going on today, want to buy my 95's tailings?)
I think that I'm leaning towards the s15, why, because it's "bad ass", unique and nobody, I say nobody has it, except for the crazy people like me who like to spend our life saving just to look good http://www.freshalloy.com/
People say I'm crazy, I say, I know! http://www.freshalloy.com/

10-26-2001, 10:20 AM
are you sure it's not "played" out...some people take offense to that...sorry can't let it go....i need some sleep

10-26-2001, 03:43 PM
sup; i called that shop with the body panels... they don't sell the 97 240sx panels... but i'll keep looking..

Its nice to see people get so upset over an online chat board..lol..anyways, you are entitled to fixing your car how u like it, but im also entitled to my own opinion, so forgive me if im tired of seeing every 240 with the same bomex kit...there are so many ohter kits out there besides bomex, cwest, or erebuni...just to name a few...do-luck, border, trial, zeal, saltfire, vertex, sealzone, gracer...anyways, forgive me again for wanting to see a little variety when it comes to 240's, and also, dont let online chatboards get to you so much, its not healthy...

10-26-2001, 05:07 PM
No hard feelings man....unfortunately for you and this forum, I had a horrible day at the workplace and needed a place to rant...propably why such a harmless comment got to me so easy.....couldn't even think of any other kits out there (I knew there were more), that's how frustrated I was..

...I personally hadn't seen the Bomex kit on the '95 style 240 until a few days ago (Bomexusa has a crummy pic on their site) and when I saw it I loved it...still not even sure what I'm gonna go with......I apologize for the rant again sr20det S14

After reading over the whole thread again, I'm ashamed at what an a$$hole I can be.....forgive me???

Don't forget that you can always mix kits if they share similar lines. I will be going with a Gracer/JUN combination since the skyline style front I ordered didn't fit. I think the list on Taka Kaira pretty much shows every major kit company that we can get here in the States.
