Have any of you guys ever heard of , or used a ca18det igniter chip on an sr20det(obviously rewired). The reason I ask is my harness came out of ricky chu's car when he still had the s13 in it and he had it rewired for a ca18det igniter do you guys know if this will pose a problem. Im trying to get it running this week and want to knock out any potential problems before I get started.)

No problems at all... assuming it was wired correctly.

hey guys i'm replying to this because a fellow sr guy in phx az is having problems with his sr due to a possible ca ignitor chip.
QUESTIONS:
1) will the car idle smoothly is the ignitor chip was faulty?

2) what will be some of the symptoms of with a bad ignitor chip?

3) he was told that the ignitor chip may not creating enough spark under hard acceleration the car will bog around 2-3000 rpms.

The ignitor is simply an on-off switch. It tells each coil pack when to fire by bumping up the signal from the ECU, to the coil packs. If an ignitor goes bad, the car won't even be able to idle well as not all four cylinders would be firing correctly.
