hey guys just went to the dyno for to try out my new set up. My new set up consists of a Max Rev tubular manifold and upgrading my turbine a/r to a .70 from a .58. We were not able to do a 3.5" dp until we slightly modify the manifold but I'm happy with a 3" for now.

at 29psi 536.50RWHP and 460.74 TQ.

the most impressive thing about the new set up is this:
on pump gas and 18psi I was at 382RWHP
at 21 psi like 409RWHP
at 24 psi like 465RWHP

other improvements

-the car is much more drivable and fun to drive. Though the turbo doesn't come on right away, it doesn't feel like lag. very responsive like a bigger engine and then when the boost really comes on the car really scoots!!
-the car sounds 10x better with new manifold... you can hear the individual exhaust pulses.
-EGT's are way down with the manifold/turbo combo.

special thanks to Max Rev and Intense Motorsports... I wouldn't have gotten this far w/o you guys. :-)

What where the dyno numbers previously at the same boost levels? Are you still on 72lbs injectors at this point?

Congrats on the dyno run though!!!!

72# injectors are usually only good to 500 WHp at a standard base pressure.

Nice power but the powerband is SO SHORT!! only 2000 RPM??

Calculated on Gearing Calculator (www.f-body.org/gears) if you shift at 7000 your 1-2 will put you at 4000 RPM. 2-3 will put you at 4800, 3-4 at 5350. that 1-2 is going to kill you at the track you will fall way out of boost unless you are flatshfting the hell out of that thing.

holy hell thats awesome.
Im assuming you are the one that pushed Jim Wolf to do the 96lb injector program.
Nice indeed. Those power differences between 21 and 24 psi are crazy. Thats almost 20 rwhp per boost level between there.

Damn thats a lot of power! Can't wait to see some ten second time slips. I'm a bit concerned about your drivetrain at this point.... what do you have between that engine and the ground? http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

What were your EGT's before you made these changes and what are they now?

thankfully the powerband looks(feels) much different on the street. With the size of my turbo, the load of the dyno shifts the power band. I don't know that it really makes sense, but the car "feels" less laggy then any other turbo set up on it. It may have more lag, but it's infinately more drivable and fun to drive.

Having the peak torque near peak power is silly on that chart.

He was having some great time trying to get the silly Blitz EBC to hold to boost. Learning passes, it would do 29psi, but when it comes to full pass, it won't.

I got a chance to drive the car. It felt like a large displacement engine, not a large turbo engine...

Wow grats. You always deliver sick numbers.

What is the record on the boards as far as KA-T's go so far?

No kidding, you're making 200hp around 4200 RPM, where my car did it at 5000. Thats the KA torque at work, eh? http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Modified JWT pistons, lengthend Crower rods, Nissan MS rod bearings, slightly worked head.

What injectors/mangement are you using? Clark (JWT) was supposed to be getting me a 96lb 3 bar program ECU to test out on a SR engine. I know he hasn't finished that yet.. as I spoke to him yesterday. Are you still on 72's? Badass by the way... that power is awesome.

Yeah, just goes to show that JWT ECU's can make good power, despite what many people say. 530+whp at 29 pounds of boost is impressive. You're probably running the injector out at the big end though... Stay on Clark, he'll get that program done one day. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mike Looking at your dyno I can't believe you don't have problems with air pockets in your cooling system due to high revs. What psi cap are you running? Have you ever had such a problem running the 7 grand? I experieced it everytime I run to 7K.

just upgraded to a greddy 1.3 bar cap but never ever had problems with 7k even with a stock cap. I also have an underdrive pulley though.... didn't have problems b4 that either.
