Well, 1st of all, I haven't been able to find their weight so if I find that they weigh over 22lb each, then I'll go with TE37s or even the 5ZR Copse (they're heavy). The LM-GT3 is made by the same company as the TE37 so I'm hoping they're in the 18-20lb range (18's). I've contacted Wheel Choice (where T.Y got his LM-GT2s) & I've contacted J-Spec & Taikakara as well. Any suggestions on who else may import them? Appreciate it, this is an expensive venture...

Nismo LM GT-3 are the same wheel as the 18" 5Zigen 5ZR. About 4 different companies use the same mold from Rays Engineering to make this wheel.

You cannot compare the TE37 to 5ZR's or the GT-3. The GT-3 and 5ZR are two piece forged wheels (forged center disk, spun outer rim) and are heavier vs. the TE37. If you want lightweight, go with the TE37.

The 5ZR would be a cheaper alternative but the 17s weigh over 22lbs http://www.freshalloy.com/ Truthfully, looks are inspiring my choice (as well as my newfound 1.5% 5K loan) so I'm hoping the GT3s are a viable choice (looks:weight). I like the polished lip. Alex, glad to see you back on the forum http://www.freshalloy.com/
TX180SX, I have them bookmarked, I'll give them a shot - thanks! SR20DET S14, my research only show the LM-GT4 available in bronze:

D21, thanks for the heads up. Member #18? Wow, you're a classic! I might as well get the 5ZR Copse then if they're that heavy. Do I really need the Nismo logo...I'm awaiting word from the above sites...

But the 17" 5ZR are a one piece cast wheel!

18" 5ZR are available in one piece cast and 2 piece forged. The two piece forged wheel (18") is about 20lbs.

you can order Nismo wheels from any Volk dealer, but discount will be none from japanese retail.
the reason we don't carry it is because it's over priced volk wheels.
a set of 17" will run you over $2,400 without tires, that's without shipping.
good luck,

From your input, I will be pricing the forged Copses. Thanks for shedding light on the fact they provide forged wheels. None of the sites (AKT, etc) mention the fact but the difference is certainly seen in price. Initial estimates look like a $2500 total investment (wheels/tires).

And be prepared to wait a bit of time for them. Rays takes their SWEET time to make the wheels when you order them...........

If that is true my post is wrong about the weight. I guess I remembered wrong. But it would be nice to have t.y. back in action.

He has two sets of wheels.

The GT-2's that he has are 22lbs each.

The Regamasters he has are 14-15lbs each.

I don't think the rims are in here but this is the most comprehensive wheel weight table I've found...

Just received quotes for the GT3 - too overpriced even with my carefree spending mentality at the moment. $3,468 w/out tires. Looks like I'll run with the 5ZR Copse - they'll save me ~$1,000: http://www.am-network.co.jp/P_2002TW/P_2002TW_on224.jpg
