View Full Version : EVERYTHING I need for a rebuild?

So I got my 92 240 and just found out that the hg and rings are bad. So I figured since I have a DD, why not just completely rebuild it? As I used to be into Hondas and could build one in my sleep, Im not sure what all I am going to need when I go about this. Can someone give me a complete list? What can I reuse? Im getting the head Ported and will hopefully be running some sort of forged piston, so I will need EVERYTHING I can't reuse. Thanks for the help guys.

If you already have a daily driver, are you considering turbo on this car? I ask because you mentioned forged pistons...

Yes. I plan on turboing it. A good friend of mine here owns A/V engineering and can fab up an exhaust manifold for the KA24de. It will be an equal length runner manifold drilled for a t3 as well as a t4 exhaust housing. After we flow bench it, we will probably mass produce them for other ka guys looking for an excellent manifold...

Well, different people will tell you different things since you plan to turbo the car. But if I were you, I would take my time, get a nice set of forged pistons and rods, and build the shortblock to handle boost (new bearings, ARP studs, etc.).
