That car is absolutely amazing - they should sell tons of those.

Yep, Car and Driver recently clocked the 300C at 0-60 in 5.3 seconds and a 13 and a half second 1/4 mile.

Too bad it's ugly.

I think the car is great, but I hate (really hate) the front grill and headlights. The similar Dodge Magnum wagon has a great looking front, and they will be bringing out a sedan version reusing the Charger name (thanks to dealerships complaints). The Dodge Charger will look great as well as having the performance, but won't be allowed to have the gadgets and pseudo-luxury of the 300C.

BTW the 300C costs over $38k if you add all the features you get in an loaded Acura TL or G35 (leather, HIDs, NAV, better stereo etc).

MT also got 0-60 about 5.8 and Automobile got 6.1 IIRC. 5.3 is a seriously stout number for a 4000+ lb car with an automatic.

It's a good looking car, 50 cent loves it but he thinks it's from the General.

But..top end is only 135mph. Think maybe its due to the brick-like shape or the pushrods? But overall very impressive performance from Chrysler. God forbid, if I had to buy one, it would be the Dodge Magnum version.

Can't be the pushrods.... pushrods don't limit vehicle speed. Maybe engine speed but NOT vehicle speed.

Probably, electronically limited but could be wrong.

I just hope the police don't start showing up with Hemi versions to replace Crown Victoria's.

I've been waiting for this car to makes its debut, I will take a long serious look at it. $38 K does sound kind of steep and did I read that I weighs in at 4000 lbs, wowzers.

Now if Chrysler can make it realizable, it should be a hit for them.

And seriously, not to preach, but the 130 mph limit is cool with me, I mean how often do you go over 130 mph on the streets/highway. If you get clocked going that fast I’m sure that will be a most regrettable action on your part, I can’t even begin to phantom what that would do to your insurance rates.

I'm sure you meant fathom, but perhaps it was a freudian slip. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Ford will need to re-release a serious Police Interceptor package to keep their Crown Vic fleet sales going strong. Chrysler took themselves out of the police car game way back in the Iacocca years...you probably won't see many 300C cruisers, but I'd be surprised if we didn't see Magnum sedan cruisers in a couple years. Its got everything they want...big 4 door car, heavy duty rear wheel drive setup, automatic anf a big V-8.

I don't like the fact that the charger is gonna be a four door, if there gonna bring it back at least make it a 2 door. Even pontiac wasn't stupid enough to bring back a musclecar name in a 4 door this time around, I believe they were stupid when they did that in the 80's with the crappy econo-cars with muscle car names,
