Well the wife and I looked at a QX several monthes ago at the car show and were very impressed. I took the Q in today for service and my sales guy at Atlantic Infiniti asked me if I wanted to take a QX for a loaner to let the wife drive it. Well to make a long story short she fell in love with it. We have them looking for: black, willow interior, 4wd with every option known to mankind. We'll be trading the LX470 and I will be glad to get rid of that thing. The difference in power and handling is night and day. The side view of the QX is a little quirky but the black tends to mask that.

it is wierd, i have seen 3 QX56's in the last two days of driving and all three were black and all three were absolutely AMAZING in peron. The rear of this thing is HOT HOT HOT...what a presence on the road. I own an IS300 and that thing was driving right next to me on the freeway and all i could see when looking out the right side of my car was BLACK QX56...it was great! I was excited, hehe. Anyways, the other two i saw had what appeared to be 24 and 26 inch rims..they were lookin REALLY good...this car seams to be suited for a rim change, and the bigger the better! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, the deal is off. Couldn't make the #'s work. I hated to walk out of the dealership but I work to hard for my $$. I am extremely patient and will wait.

Hey, I really love the Lexus LX470 and I also think the GX470 is another great choice for you if the QX56 deal does not work else were. The GX is a good size, not much smaller than LX but has more amneties and a good gas mileage and better customer service than what you will get with the QX56. I have a QX4 and an RX330, and I love them both, but I personally have a distaste for the QX56 becuase it is not as very luxurious and nice looking as the outgoing 2003 QX I have. The LX is still my preference over the QX, well thats my opinion. But the GX is a fabulous looking SUV.

I was very impressed with the QX at the NYIAS. The interior was top-notch IMO, sharing precious few materials with the Armada-- just the kick panels and dash finish, both of which are soft (who are you kidding Car and Driver?). The aluminum and wood are amazing and the leather is buttery as the Q45's. Build quality seemed solid, while the doors thankfully were lighter than they looked (I was expecting them to weight as much as the QE2).
Second row leg room was amazing. At 6'4'' I could stretch out like I could in the conversion van my parents had when I was a teen. Even the Bose sounded pretty good. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I also made it a point to sit in an Escalade and an H2. Both had such horrible interiors it made me puke. I can't get over people accusing Nissan of using cheap plastics when abominations like these get a pass in the $50k-plus class.
Anyways, can't wait to see some of these Japanese Escalades on 26s in some rap videos! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yeah, I would wait too. If history tells us anything, I am sure they will be knocking the prices back soon enough.

Well it looks like I might be back in the game. Talked to them yesterday and they're "recalculating"! Hopefully, we can come to terms. I'll keep you posted.

Be patient. I just got m QX56 this weekend and had to actually walk out of the dealership to get deal done. Got full trade in value on my acura TL '01 (according to Edmunds=$15,350) and $1250 off the MSRP off a fully loaded QX with MSRP about $55,000+ (DVD, NAV, Rear Camera/Cruise package, mats, sunroof).
Note my local Nissan Dealer was giving $150 over what Edmunds said my trade was worth and INVOICE for a Fully Loaded Armada LE with Tech package, DVD, Sunroof, Leather, Etc.
Both cars needed to be dealer exchanged from another state.
It was a close call but the Infiniti won based on price adjustment to about $4k over invoice but had better service and prob resale and better curb appeal.
This is in Indianpolis IN.

IMHO, you are absoluteley right. It completely amazes me. The escalade has an unbelievably inferior interior.

Well, my local dealer in Jax couldn't make the #'s work so I did what anybody else would do....I got on the internet and found a dealer out of town. They are holding a QX for me until Monday. Black, willow, XM, gold package, captains chairs, sunroof, DVD, vision, etc. Hopefully I'll be bringing her home Monday night!

Well, she's home and looks quite good in my garage! The kids watched a movie all the way home from Orlando. The QX is an awesome handling SUV. I personally prefer cars....the wife likes SUV's. If I have to drive one, the QX is pretty damn good, it's quiet, powerful and extremely luxurious.
Thanks Infiniti!
