I'm thinking about doing a few upgrades on my 2000 Altima but I'm wondering how much power each mod would add.

How much of a difference would a variable capacity muffler have on the Alt? (Is there one for the Alt? They skipped it. Max gets on. Sentra SE gets one..)

How about a Stillen intake?

What other mods should I make that won't cost a fortune..?

I don't know much about cars. http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/confused.gif But oh well. http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif haha..

LOL problem is that trying to find mods for an altima are next to impossible. I have been looking for my friends 95 gxe. there is like one exhaust i found, and dont remember if a header or not. but i the new ones could be different

There are some aftermarket support for the 1st Gen Altima, but there are very few for the current Gen. I know there is a turbo package for both Gen. Altimas, and Stillen makes exhaust and intakes for both Altimas... but the real beauty of the Altima is within handling... there are tons of support in that area...

Well the intake IIRC is about the same as the SE-R's the MAF that is. So yea the Stillen intake. Finding headers for the FWD KA is pretty hard. Ok there is two exhausts then greddy and Stillen. I want to know about this handling stuff. Is this Altima specfic stuff or just universal stuff that works with the Altima. Im sure my friend would be interested if I tell him this stuff. As for that turbo its WAY expensive. He found a place in Florida that takes your car and puts a turbo on it and stuff for 8000 IMHO way too much. A bolt on kit I have yet to find. So please point me in the direction of Altima stuff.

The variable capacity muffler would not be worth getting unless you are going for quiteness. Cause Im sure you could retro fit one on there but dont know if its worht it. Cause they claim its where the "magicly" found horses on the max and sentra but I know on the sentra its from other places like the roller rockers. The Max is different havent read much on them tho. If you are wanting performance I would go for an aftermarket exhaust. Maybe if nothing else a good universal muffler and a custom bent b-pipe mandrel bent that is. Might try calling Courtsey Nissan in Texas and see what all they have for ya. You can get their number on www.se-r.net (http://www.se-r.net) forget what its under its like dealers or something. they have a lot of stuff. North Texas Nissan might be usefull also Vince McCurly went from Courtsey up to there.
