Hey, how do you like the sound of a naturally aspirated, eight cylinder, dual overhead cam, thirty two valve, 265hp engine? Not too shabby, eh?

Well, wouldn't it be cool if somebody put in something like the old car pictured below?

Well, somebody did, right here in America...and the suprise here is that this engine was standard equipment in the Dusenberg J (pictured above) from 1929...

Pretty impressive, eh? Whats not commonly known is that most of the details of engine mechanics were figured already by the 1920's....even stuff like forced induction and OHCs...engineers have just spent the last 80 years fine tuning what has already been known for ages....

In 1932, Dusenberg came out with the SJ....that's right, a supercharged version of the engine described above...

Pretty impressive, no?

I would LOVE to drive that just to find out how it feels, the whole car in general, and how it compares to used (recent) domestics...
