When buying a family sedan, is braking really that big of an issue? I'd like to see the race if the accord actually put the pedal to the floor... doesn't its 6.4 sec 0-60 or something beat the Galant's? Which really impresses me considering it still gets 30 mpg off regular fuel. Wonder how long it will take for Mitsu to finally die now that Chrysler turned off the tap.

It is when you are in a long race on a short pier. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That thing gets a 0-60 of 6.77!?

My best 0-60 on my Prelude SH was 6.96...Boy i'd hate to lose a race to one of those.

That's a dumb comment. So what is important, 0-60?
Can't have all go and no whoa.

If you're the kind of guy who likes to drive on bridges still under construction, then I guess the Galant is for you.

Between those two, I'll take the Accord, thank you.

No, I'm the kind of guy who as safe a driver I can be, there's always going to be some a-hole who is going to cause an accident, like some a-hole in an Accord just goes flying out in front of me at an intersection when they ain't got the right of way because they think they have a good 0-60, which causes me to brake, even with a good amount of distance in front of me, only to find the Accord behind me has a longer braking distance, rear ends me, and causes some injury to themselves and their passenger or myself and my passengers.
Keep in mind I ain't talking about the commericial, but madmaster's comment...
Mitsubishi are just using an overexaggerated example of braking performance to help sell an ugly car. Choice of a family sedan doesn't solely ride on brake performance OR 0-60. There are other factors, and different people put different emphasis on those factors.

With so many Accords on the road, you'd be better off staying at home.

if I'm behind them and they brake, I know I got extra braking distance. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No i'm not saying 0-60 is important, but i'd say the majority of people, especially Americans, would pay more attention to a faster or more powerful car. In all these pickup adds, they always brag about them being the quickest, even when it comes to Dodge and Ford lying about it. Whether or not the Accord did get a better 0-60 i'd still take it as it's a great value.
