Took these posts off RX8Club forum:

<font color="blue[/img] "I went to a "friend's" house today and the first he said to me after opening the door and seeing my new RX-8 was... "WHY?"
WTF?! how about a courtesy "Wow" or "Nice car" or even "Hi" would of been better.
What am I suppose to say else than, "Because it's an awesome car." The thing I hate is to have to justify myself defending my baby.
I asked him as why he ask "why?" and he said because of what he had heard about the rotary!

Is it me or is it that every freaking soul that does NOT possess one of these Jewels thinks badly of them?
So hence my question, is it idiocy or ignorance???

I have to be more prepare next time I get hit with stupid comments like that."</font>

<font color="red[/img] I stopped by my local autozone to see if they had DC Adaptor extension cord. I ran into one of the employees right by the front door and asked if they carried them. He said "No, you need to go to Radio Shack."

I said Ok and walked back to the car. He is outside at the time with a couple of other guys out there. He yells over to me "Hey, you know there is a recall on that car." I looked at him and said "What recall?" It doesn't have enough horsepower. It has 40 or so horsepower less than Mazda says."

I said "Too bad there isn't a recall on idiots" and left.

And yes I know the HP difference is near 40 but you know how many idiots are out there.

That was highly unprofessional but it is the type of crap RX-8 owners are going to get due to Mazda's incompetence. Did the EPA2 standards come as a surprise to them???

Anyways, I am just venting. I will never shop at Autozone again. </font>

That's pretty sad.... the world is just full of idiotic ignorant people eh? (especially them car guys) http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif I can see them on a talk show now "Jo'all dun know me!"

My friend with a 8 told me once "At least my car is rare, you don't see it that often" I just calmly told him "Yeah, that's because nobody else wants to buy them" http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Come to think of it that was pretty harsh.

Actually, around my house, I've seen FAR more RX8's than G's (coupes) on the road (Baltimore). Still don't like the design.

I think it just looks like its trying too hard...

I rarely if ever see an RX-8 - now G coupes aren't common (certainly not like the 'Thicker 'n Flies' 3-series BMW's) but they're nowhere near as rare as RX-8's.

I see G35s all over as well. Rarely see a RX-8. I know the owner of a local autozone who bought his wife a RX-8.

I think the only major thing with the RX-8 is major oil consumption. Great car like the G35 coupe

The RX-8 crowd is a strange lot. My brother has an FC and goest to local RX meets where there is a good assortment of of FC's FD's and RX-8s. The rx-8 crowd tend to stay all to themselves, a seemingly different demographic of people who are in their own little world and see no faults with the car. The RX-7 guys think its pretty funny. Most of the rx-8s are stock too.

I am not familiar with MazdaSpeak - what does 'FC' and 'FD' mean?

I'll make it easier..... FC is the white one driven by the guy who's sexuality is ambigous at best, the FD is the yellow one driven by the spikey haired one. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The way I see it is like this.... This dork was probably THE high school nerd and now that he's finally graduated from college with a degree in computer programming, he decided he wanted to FINALLY lose his virginity. Seeing as how he gets laughed at whenever he goes to a club, he thought "If I buy a nice car...maybe THAT will get me laid" and so he went out and bought an RX-8. Sad part of it is...he is still a dork and doesn't realize that it's not the car that makes you cool...it's the personality that makes you cool. To me...this story is about just some nerd whining about how everybody still picks on him even though he dumped some cash on a car.

I like the rx-8's front design, 9k redline, and 4 seats, but the bulbous rear styling doesnt do it for me, nor does its like 23 hwy mpg.

Considering the rx8 beat the g35 and cobra in the fun to drive factor it definately has something, and after sitter in it and seeing it, it does have what it takes to capture buyers. They really should have rethought the engine though considering the rotary is dead, unless the renesisII is a marvel of engineering knowledge.

I am not going to get into a pissing match with you man, but if you question my credentials, I will list them.

Okkkk....how about designed, engineered, constructed, tested, AND driven them. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif That's me.......0-60 in 4+ seconds (http://voyager1.eng.utsa.edu/~sae/)

I have also driven shifter karts, a Vintage MARCH F1 (Cosworth V8), and a 1991 Formula Holden.

I don't see what that has to do with this guy crying because nobody likes his car. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif Is the guy complaining because the car isn't fast? Nooooo. He's complaining because nobody likes his car. Enough of this.
