My cd player is not working on my g20 help!!!!!!!!

My cd player on my g20 is not working. When I put in a cd an error message comes up saying "cd error". I even tried putting in new cds and it does not work. I was recently in a wreck and I had my car repainted. From it being repainted dust was everywhere in the car and in the slot where cds are put into the player. Is my cd player broken or just dirty on the inside?
