Its about time an American car company builds a car like this, even if they have some German help http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Considering MT also named the Chevy Caprice Car of the Year in 1991 and the Malibu in 1997, I take their choices with a grain of salt. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I'm not a big fan of the look, but at least it seems Chrysler has joined Cadillac in having half-a-clue of how to design a car that has some character and some quality. They also seem to be leaving behind the 'suppository' look of the prior models.

Combined with improving quality and reliability ratings, the European manufacturers in particular have to be more than little bit nervous. However, Ford (with the exception of the GT) is continuing to roll out mind-numbingly boring models.

If the Crossfire wasn't so ridiculously cab-back, it would a serious competitor to the G coupe and the Z. The roadster version is nice though. An SRT-6 roadster wouldn't be a half-bad car to own.

95 m3 . 96 maxima . 03 g35 were also mt cars of the year ...
the 300M is a good car for its price and what it offers

what kind of arguement is big plastic grills and its ghetto (which isnt the cars fault)

if a gt3 was affordable it would be ghetto as well

GREAT CHOICE!!! Chrysler really got this car right. For 35-40k, V-8, RWD or AWD, classy looks inside and out. Great car!

I hope you know what MT COTY is about and how its chosen. For the record, I think its the right choice, but half of MT COTY award is based on proposed advertising package. But I like the 300C, MT award or not.

Quick rundown of COTY awards...
2004 Toyota Prius chosen over...
Pontiac GTO, BMW 5 Series, Acura TL and TSX, Quest, Toyota Sienna, Jaguar XJ8, Audi A8 L, Volkswagen Phaeton, Chevy Aveo and Malibu, Suzuki Verona.

2003 COTY did go to the G35 yes but I believe this to be a fluke to make up for 2002 when the Thunderbird won over WRX, M3 Convertible, Q45, Audi A4, Altima, Mitsu Galant, Toyota Camry, Mercedes C-Class Wagon, Jaguar X-Type, Lexus ES, IS SportCross and SC430 and a few other cars.

2001 saw the PT Cruiser win over Lexus LS, Sentra SE-R, Lexus IS, Mercedes C- and CL-Class, Toyota MR-2, Volvo S60, Honda Civic, etc.

2000 Lincoln LS won over Audi TT, BMW X5, Caddy Deville, Ford Focus, Ford Taurus, Honda S2000, Jaguar S-Type, Mercedes S-Class, Maxima, Saturn L Series, Echo, Volkswagen Golf and Volvo S40 and V40.

I'll be the first to recognize the statement that "opinions are like a$$holes..." and I believe that out of many of the years noted above and many years in the past, that the best new car in its class wasn't chosen. Also take into account COTY and ICOTY were consolidated in 2000 and the LS was considered the best car in its class over the S2000--the mag stinks of bias and tends to choose the "biggest improvement and not necessarily the best car".

Man hell no. The Altima has never won any comparison in any magazine, let alone come close to winning Car of the Year. I think Motor Trend was the magazine to state "the Altima has an interior of a 10 year old Hyandai". Motor Trend is also the only magazine to get the manual to get a 5.999999 second run.

I think outside the Ford Thunderbird idiotic choosing, they have been solid. Import car of the year
96-E-class
97-5 series
98-GS series
99 Beetle

And I think they merged the awards soon thereafter (because so many cars are now not built in their home country, like American made Acuras) so they are not sure what an import is anymore.

I thought it was the Altima that was 2002 COTY, wasn't it?

An import car is, get this, actually an import.
TL is domestic. TSX and RL are imports.

I can figure it out, but the media continues to say that Accords, Camrys, etc are import nameplates. Sexy beeyotches! I don't want to give these hick states up and down I-75 any credit either. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
