I think that the new commecials including the Cobalt and Corvette are the most clever in car advertising. It is very original and draws me into the commercial and actually makes me want the Cobalt SS. I really have to give it to Chevy for this one. I actually picture them as two brothers picking at each other. I like the one where they are at the red light and the Corvette just spins around and is like "Leave me the hell alone!!!!!" Funny stuff. Great way of saving money too. Two in one.

Sure it’s a great commercial. The Vette has established its self as a true inexpensive sports car that can hang with uber sport cars. The Cobalt on the other hand, http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif time will tell.

For those of us who don't live in a market where they are sold, can somebody tell me what the commercials are like?

While I really think the new Corvette is marvelous (I sat in one last weekend...WOW), I'm not much on the ads. I guess I think the Vette stands alone, and doesnt need some silly little brother tagging along. Just my two cents.......but, based on our conversation there, obviously, the ads have done their job by generating buzz for the Cobalt.

Well there are three different ads.

1. The first one starts with a red Corvette sitting at a red light. Then a red Codalt drives up right behind it. It then pulls up and bumps into the Corvette like a little brother hits his older brother. The Cobalt keeps picking at the Corvette by bumping into its bumper. Then The Vette gets tired of it and revs up the engine and does a complete spin around to where the two cars are facing each other and turn on its lights to signal "leave me the hell alone".

2. This one starts with the Vette cruising down a mountain road. The Cobalt then comes speeding along trying to pass the Vette and they are basically playing chase. The Cobalt somehow gets in front, and then the Vette just shoots by him at FULL SPEED and leaves the Balt in his dust. Then they show the Balt passing the Vette which is now getting a ticket and the Balt basically laughs as it passes(sounds weird Huh?).

3. This one they are in an alley playing ball together. They hit the ball with thier bumpers back and forth. The vette the just jets off and hits the ball and the ball goes flying over the Cobalt(the Vette is being a bully). The Cobalt then puts it in reverse and does a spin to go get the ball.

You really have to see the ads to get the full effect. They are pretty funny.

Nisslover, you can't forget to mention that in the second commercial after the cobalt gets in front it spray's it windshiled washer fluid so it gets on the vette, taunting the vette in a way.
