Hey,
Up until now i've really wanted a G35 (sedan or coupe) but recently they had a deal on a 2003 m45 black with premium package for 29000. Anyways it's black and it's really the only color that makes it look nice. Anyways i just wanted your opinion on the comparison as well as any known problems with the 2003 m45. The only one noteworthy that i've heard is a delay with acceleration.

Just look at these two cars parked next to each other..... I'd take a G35 even if the 03 M45 was cheaper. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Some people like the 03-04 M45 look(like me). It has a muscle car look instead of a sleek, smaller look. I've had G35s as loaners and although they are quick and very responsive, they don't have the more solid feel of the M45. The M45 power at higher revs is pretty cool. Problems I am aware of are potential high oil consumption, and hesitation when accelerating from 20-40 mph.

The G35 handles better, but if it is not a 6MT, then the M45 will run away from it effortlessly.
Tough choice. But it is yours alone to make.

That is one hell of a deal to walk away from.

than left over use 2003, but new m45 runs circles around it in fit & finish, NO hesitation on kick down, it flies

Ya i really want a 2006 m45 but $50000>$30000. The biggest thing that is scaring me is the hesitation acceleration because i've heard it could be a safety issue. I love the performance and i have to drive auto (i'm a lazy driver).

That problem was fixed back in late 2002 and only applied to the 2002 Q45.

Get the M45. It's still a luxurious car with a monster engine.
It's basically brand new and it's so rare. Go for it.

And...you may have the owner of the Lincoln-Mercury dealership walk outside to compliment you on your very nice looking car! (My other car is a Grand Marquis..for my high schooler). He seemed eager to trade, but what did he have to sell? There won't be many like it.

Well it's through the Pinnicle Infiniti dealership in Phx, AZ. It looks like i'll be trading my MDX for whatever I get and it's the only M45 on the lot with 30,000 miles on it.

You amy also want to check out www.cars.com (http://www.cars.com) and see if there are any other 2003-2004 M45's out there the way you want them. You can search in a 250 mile radius (or even more) if you really want to find one. There are a decent number of dealers and used car lots, and also a few personal ads on there so you can check out the prices.

With 30K, that's a little rich. See if they won't knock another $2K off and throw in an Infiniti extended warranty.

Actually, according to www.kbb.com (http://www.kbb.com), that is a decent if not really good price. I have found ones at better prices, but the majority of them seem to be over $30K. I found one with nav, tech, premium, comfort, with only 8K miles on it for $29,900, but it is on the east coast!! Not really going to help a guy in AZ!
