New Jetta: Betta?

I just saw a new Jetta yesterday on the road. I can't figure this thing out. I want to like it. The size is kind of interesting. The rear, three-quarter view is nice. But there's somthing not right there for me. What do you guys think?

It's the dumbing down of their car design. It seems like they think that making the Jetta look like everything else will increase sales. I would have rather seen a similar design to the last Jetta but just a little larger.

Took a new Jetta out for a test drive a few weeks back. Kind of ugly on the outside, but still very nice on the inside. The ride was comfortable and soft. Engine felt decently strong. Salesman definately played up the "half a Lamborghini V10" thing a lot. The experience was very pleasant and the car felt well built. Dealer said MTs weren't out yet, but the autobox was smooth.

However, I don't know if it's any "better" outside the better base engine. VWs in the last 10 years have all felt very sturdy and well built with stylish interiors and this one's no different. Uglier exterior styling for a better base engine. I think it's even.

Strange, and I don't know if this is endemic at other VW dealers, but the dealership only had new Jettas, new Beetles and Touaregs in stock. No Passats, no Phaetons, No Eurovans, no Golfs, nothing else. They attributed it to not being popular so they get them on a special order basis.

Whatchoo talkin' bout... the foo was accelerating, then slowing down, so I was all around that beeyotch. Idiot was all over the road. Typical Ohio Numbnutzwagen driver.
