I guess I'm way behind in reading my car magazines. I just opened the March 2005 Car & Driver. I'm looking at pages 36 & 37. I'm reading the Saturn Aura article and I'm laughing. Why am I laughing?

The Saturn article & picture are at the top of page 37....opposite that, on page 36 are an article & picture of the Opel Astra diesel hybrid coupe. The first sentence of the Saturn article states "Behold the first vehicle to wear Saturn's new design language." Now look at the Opel. Saturn's new corporate styling theme is Opel's styling theme. Headlights, grille (except for logo), wheel arches, mirrors, door handles---it's all pure Opel.

So, does Saturn even have designers anymore? Think any GM lovers will ever notice these things or care?

What's really sad is that the basic styling of the Aura is really nothing more than GM rebadging the Chrysler Sebring...

Most of us were telling GM to make Saturn = Opel, so why laugh? Yes, you're very behind.

As for Sebring, hey, that could a step up in the design department @ GM http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif
