make sure you check the oil level after having the car sit for a long time like in the morning before you start the car. my dad and i got lazy one time and let someone do an oil change. they overfiled and it caused a big problem and lets say we ended up having to do a head job.

Seriously man I suggest doing it yourself, the filter is incredibly easy to get to (remove 1 and losen the other 10mm bolt and the plate slides right out of the way) and it has a cool little spout to keep the oil from trickling all over the radiator skid plate and sway bar. Seriously my fist time changing the oil myself on my Path took me 15 min. And that included pouring the used oil into a waste container for recycling. I change every 3,500 religiously cause my gas peddel is a jerk and needs to be punished.
but here is my 2 cents
1) DON'T go to AUTOZONE thier people are not only morons but thier computer threw the part number for the 04-05 Maxima oil filter. I know the VQ40 uses a small filter but this thing was a shot glass, yet they swore it was the right one (thank God I went to Parts America on my gut feeling)
2) if you don't get an OEM filter make sure you get one with the anti drainback valve. I used Fram Toughguard: it has the Anti-Drainback valve like OEM and it has that tacky grippy stuff so you don't have to use a oil filter wrench.
The K&N's have a higher flow rate but filtation suffers and unless you race and are adept at rebuilding engines.
Seriously everyone should bond with their vehicles.
