As discussed on GMInsideNews:
http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22192

The article normally requires a login via Forbes' site, but GMInsideNews gets "inside."

Other than the article, the commentary at GMIN is always interesting. Note that poster 'Ming' isn't me, but he always has insightful remarks.

With all the action in the industry in the past few weeks, I'd had to leave the Nissansphere (FA). Of course, driving the Malibu MAXX is also part of it. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

American Honda was doing emissions testing on 2001 model year vehicles, so I volunteered it for a week. And all I got was a Malibu Maxx with 3.5 liters of V6 OHV power. Well, they washed the Integra, wiped out all the interior dust, and filled the gas tank too.

Mental note: next time, say "yes" they offer a Pontiac Grand Prix.

If the GP, or Pontiac division, is still around:

The Grand Prix is made in Ontario, with the Impala.
