Jeff/ISH may kill me for beating him to it, but we installed some Nismo sways on his track model today. It was pretty easy, we had one bolt that had to be burned off and a couple of the front diffuser screws didnt survive the job, but all in all an easy job. We looked around and a few sites suggested removing one of the wheels or unlbotling the exhaust to get it done. We opted to unbolt the exhaust and it gave us enough play to get it out and in really easy. The front couldn't have been any easier.
The results you say...well just on driving impressions alone its made a huge change on turn in and throughout. Jeff will say that the car is almost boring now because of the nonexistent surprise of grip loss. His grip threshold is a lot higher now than what he was used to and its now more controllable.
This is his first suspension mod (not counting wheels and tires) and I think he may have the itch to go a little further with it now...NISMO coilovers in spring.
He's happy about the results (and the money he saved...~$150) and I'm all dirty because I took out my transmission today.

Jeff is absolutely amazed with the results/feel. It's an easy driveway modification and takes little time. Depending on you mileage and who you have do work on your Spec some of your bolts/nuts may be in rough shape, so be prepared to buy some extras or have a shop do it with a torch to heat them off. It should be a simple mod, but there are never any quarentees.
As for the spec, I have driven Fred's (PalmerWMD) spec and his has the nismo sways on stock shocks and springs and it felt very flat through the turns on the streets. Very cost effective and rewarding mod. I'm considering it on my Audi as well.
I'd recommend trying to purchase a set of adjustable ones from one of our sponsors here, but the nismo's do offer a great quality and fit.

I'll go drive Jeffs car at the "secret" meet this weekend.
PM me for info.
Car feels awsome!! like being on rails around turns!! Was completely stunned by the difference, was not really expecting a big change.

When I put the NisMo front and rear sway bars on my Spec V it made a pretty dramatic improvement. The front sway bar is hard to notice but I put it on the same time I put on the lower tie bar. I eventually had to take the lower tie bar off due to my down-pipe and mid-pipe coming off my turbo. The Rear Sway Bar is very nice and I had it set full stiff for over 20k miles. Once the rear end breaks loose it breaks loose all the way. Just be prepared for that. I ended up rolling my car because I was being an idiot and showing off going too fast through sweeping turns and I lost control of the rear end. I'm sure it broke free sooner due to the fact that I had a rear sway bar on my car. But, if I could do it again I'd keep the rear sway bar and would have stopped being a dumb-ass by driving beyond my limits.
Overall impression: Sway bars and Lower Tie Bar were great mods on the Spec V.
Soo... By losing roll in our cars with sway bars obviously performance is gained... However I have been told that by losing the "feel" of the car rolling around a turn there is little to no warning before losing rear end control (im thinking in terms of rwd in my case)... seems to make plenty of sense to me, in fact really don't question it ... but for the sake of curiosity, Is this true?... anyone have experience in this?
*bump*
Anyone have knowledge / experience in regards to my last reply?

The sways raise your cars controllability and your ability to toss it around.
it also helps keep cambers near spec during extreme cornering.
Some people find it gets easier with a stiffer rear to step out unpredictably, but that problem IMO is mostly of concern if your mismateched somehow.
For example a car with stock sway bar in front gets added aftermarket rear sway bar , a common Mods on some cars, this <will> make that cars end step out more vigorously when it does and also make it more likely to do so.
Not really a concern with your front and rear set of Nismos.
