Well It seems the Euro rules just make things an inch portlier and rounder.

Notice the "power bulge" over the hard engine and flatter and rounder bumber with the lower air inlets for the intercoolers now more flush with center section of the bumper. Also the note the more convex lights on the new model...

It seems the only Manufacturer's that won't be hit by the new PED rules are Subaru and makers of mid and rear engine cars.

Looks hip and very, very ... you know, "Euro."

Huh, let's go crash-testing.

hmm...don't remember those 2004 ones.
The 07 looks nice.
Something odd about the phrase "pedestrian crash spec".

Well Subaru uses flat boxer engine which means most of the hard engine bits are well away from the hood. Same with mid engine and rear engine cars....

Apparently when you hit a pedestrian with a car they have a tendency of hitting the top of the inline and V type configuartion engines and this magnifies injury.

It seems the first batch of Euro pedestrain crash spec vehicles have hoods that have "power bulges" over the engine to give more cushion in the event of an accident. Also, it seems manufacturer's have to smooth out the front of the cars.....

This will stop front end bits of a vehicle from grabbing pedestrians.

So the MY2010 cars will basically feature the more update version of the cow-catcher, albeit titled human-catcher.. I think some Japanese body kits alreay feature the front end plow design...
