It seem to me that Automobile Mag's 'all-star' lineup is stark notice of the reality of the world today in performance/value - the Corvette vs. Japan and Germany.

The only other car you might want to consider is the Elise - but the real value offered by that car is up for debate. To me an Elise is a cheap supercar, with some of the wonders of that exalted species, but also more than a few of the warts typical of those kind of vehicles.
