Yeah same thoughts, thought it looked like a diff SUV on first sight but can't think of what one. So this is the replacement for the G uber-hummer like class right, or is this still something different?

I'm not sure what a more rounded G-class does for Benz. Durango/Pacifica/Highlander/Pilot/Freestyle look is watered-down, because I wasn't aware before that a Durango and a Highlander looked similar. It really is "some SUV." Go Benz, I'm sure people will pay a lot of money for your uneventful product, even though plenty of other competitive product exists.
