I had it on for about 6 months or so.
Just prior to installation (I was running 7 psi pulley for 15,000 miles and 9 psi right before) I saw I had oil in my intake. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/banghead.gif

So on goes the Gredddy Oil catch can.

I have the one that looks like this:

Fairly early I saw that the "vison Tube" seemed full of oil.

I didnt pay it much heed ,sicne since is not a small catch can and with my SC set-up which keeps boost real low during normal driving ,it should take nearly forever, to fill it up, as everyone told me.

Now I been meaning to open that thing up and clean it out for a couple of months now.

Because the clear level tube in the pic above, was a solid amber, which is the color of my (usually fresh) oil

So I presumed my CC was maxed out.

Today FINALLY ,the weather is nice enough to start wrenching on it abit ( plus I forgot last time I was at the post crafts shop) and I uncork the thing...

Its empty...! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/26.gif
How is this possible?

Does this mean Greddy made the view tube oil colored, to stump you into thinking its full????

I had had my SC Pulley off and have been driving N/A for 7000 miles now.

even so I am shocked its empty since the tube looks full.

Why would they make the tube that shpwn clear in the pic above the color of oil?

In retrospect since i ran my oil longer than usual I should hav expected any level of oil to be much darker...

In a way its good news, since it means my intake is likely not swathed in oil, due to a overpowered CC but still..

A riddle for the ages ,why the tube is not clear like in the pic above but oil colored... http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/auto.gif

I hope it wasn't refurbished and it's the oil that stained the piping. The tubes usually gets off colored after awhile, but not brown, like the color of the oil.

they turn brown in about 10k miles of driving for me. its the fumes in your blow-by that turns it that color.

Just curious... do you have anything to catch the oil? Any baffles etc?
Just an empty can isnt very effective, you might find you can catch more with some extra baffling inside.

I have the same catch can, and my tube is a little brown like that, but I was worried that it was not working cause i have never had anything in it.

its from the oil vapors staining it.

you have to love blower seals letting oil back in...
