i heard the winner from SAE's fuel economy competition got 1800mpg in the event and up to 2200mpg in testing. of course that thing looked like a solar car and basically a weed wacker engine powering it. nice to see something good in a car you can actually drive. i don't see wearing out the brakes very fast in that thing. you'd want to save all your momentum around turns.

that's pretty slick, but once you get into accident, even with a mountain bike, you're dead. I'd sport one, if it's got some safety features.
