Aha! Toyota Avalon is now rated at 268HP and not 280HP. RL is at 290HP and TL at 258HP.

ha thats funny. Nissan will probaly be on top again with its 07 maxima and Altima increasing their horsepower and not lieing about it.

Nissan has to fall in the same basket. The [American, esp. Detroit] media simply chooses to ignore Nissan.

No one was "lieing" about HP numbers. There was an old standard and now there is a new standard.
And by the way, Toyota and Honda re-tested voluntarily... and Nissan has yet to do it AFAIK.

The V8 VK in the FX went up in power but I don't think Nissan has has done the VQ variants or QR.

They'll probably just wait till the full redesign. Which isn't a bad marketing move.

yeah they will adjust the ratings as new models are released... feels like 6 months ago when this was news. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Toyota and Honda switched their ratings fall last year like Ford and GM... any news as to whether DCX will follow through. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

So sad, even Nissan lied about their HP on the vehicles. We all knew full well the 03 Altima made more than 245hp, 03 G35 sedans were making way more than the claimed 260hp. Then there is the new 298hp G35 that we all know is BS as well.

Still, nothing beats the liar liar king - Mazda.

http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/iagree.gif I've always thought Nissan's were making more power than advertised. Altima's with 250HP are running faster than they should.

Funny you point out Mazda. They've had two "recalls" due to horsepower ratings being off. And that was years ago and not because of new standards on how to test HP.

haha, that's pretty funny. I think the next Supra will have 187 hp and will come out in 2015.
