This is the new member introduction thread! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grouphug.gif

All new (and Newish) members can post here to introduce yourself.

I'll make a start:

My name is Fred and I am in my late 30's..
I just left the Army a Year ago and now work as a Scientist at Edgewood Arsenal.

I drive a Nissan 350Z, w/ Supercharger with mild 7 psi pulley and bolt ons.
My previous cars were mostly Infiniti Q45's, but I also owned a 1989 240sx Coupe with SR20DET ACT CLutch, Nismo LSD, Silvia Front End etc etc.
I love driving fast and here are some pics of my current car:

Hi all!

Travis here, 34 years old and currently a full-time student working on my MDiv. Previously I have worked in debt collections and most recently systems testing and development.

Been around cars since the earliest years of my life. I own the 1968 Plymouth Sport Fury (383/auto) that I drove in high school. I have also owned a 1994 Dodge Dakota reg cab short bed with the Magnum 5.2/auto that received MP headers, PCM, M-1 intake and a few other goodies. That was a fun truck http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif Just before school I sold an 89 Lebaron GTS that came with the TII (intercooled 2.2)/5 speed combo from the factory. I swapped in a 2.5 crank, used the stock rods and 2.5 pistons to make a stroker using factory parts. Cleaned up the ports on the head as well as the intake and exhaust manifolds and topped that off with a nice Garrett Super 60 turbo with the larger .63 exhaust housing. It has a 3" exhaust too. Fun car but needed the $ for school....

In our search for cars in 1998, I suggested that my wife drive a Maxima and that was it. We leased a 99 SE for two years and traded it on the 2k SE in the sig which we purchased and payed off last fall. We picked up the 2k1 Sentra GXE about a month ago for around town and daily duties.

Peace,
Travis

Hello everyone. I currently own a VW Passat but am seriously considering purchasing a 350Z. The Z marque has been in my family since before I was born. My dad has owned each Z car (except for the 350Z) beginning with the Datsun 240Z up to the Nissan 300ZX (Z32). I signed up to ask a few questions and I look forward to posting more should I unload the Passat and get something more fun. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Hi Folks:
I am in my 50's and living in beautiful Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada and have just bought a M45 sport after a life time of owning high performance Detroit muscle along with hot rods and custom Harley's. To say that I am impressed with the 45 would be a gross understatement. I just sold my 2003 Ford F150 Harley Davidson version with the supercharged 4.5L engine. I had put some extra zoom-zoom in the F150 and thought that it was a quick vehicle, I think the 45 in stock trim would embarass the Ford. Did I happen to mention that I was way more than a little impressed? Am looking for performance improvments, extra stopping power along with body kits and trick wheels in the future...anyone with some direction on one or more of these avenues would find me very appreciative.
I look forward to spending time at Freshalloy.com

Well I'm not new here, I've actually been a lurker for a very very long time and lost my last login name due to inactivity http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif .

Name is Evan, I just turned 25 last week WOOT CHEAPER INSURANCE!

My sig tells you what kind of work I do, but I'm also a major Nissan/Infiniti enthusiast which happened long before my job choice. I currently drive a 1990 Infiniti Q45 with a few extras (see Cardomain link in sig). It's my second one actually.

I just moved to Indianapolis, In. from the Oakland, Ca. area to help my Grandparents live a bit easier. They're both getting up there in age and can't do a number of things without assistance. It was easier for me to move here than my Mom because I didn't have a home to sell to do so.

I love to give buying/leasing advice, so if anyone ever has questions about that - or any upcoming products - don't hesitate to post a thread or contact me. I'll definitely be around here a lot more often.

I will be showing up at the nissan club meet in july.

I have plenty of nissan experience having worked at both Datsun Dynamics in Reston, VA. and The Z shop of Miami as well as many years at the dealerships.

Current projects are a M30 turbo and a 1984 maxima turbo.

I'll try to do some write-ups of unusual swaps and or modifications that nobody else has done when time permits.

Another stanger appears. Hello my name is ... well thats not important right now , lets just say "J" for now.

Im 25 years old and currently in the military. I am now living in N.Las Vegas, after 2 short wonderful years in okinawa. Its really hard getting used to the fact that there is no such thing as a cool breeze in Las Vegas.

As far as cars go my heart pumps oil and the whooshing sound from my brain spooling up ... its ...well you just have to hear it for yourself. I was once proud to say every car I've owned was turbocharged. From my first being the Shelby Daytona Turbo Z to my 84' Grand National while I was still a young buck. Then on to an R33 Skyline GTS25T as well as my Y33 Gloria Gran Turismo.Since Ive been in Nevada all my cars so far have been N/A .... it doesnt suck ... its just different .... I keep finding myself everyday listening for the spool-up ...thinking that one day it will suddenly whistle up again.

To shorten this story ; I told myself I was going to buy another skyline even if it killed me ... well I guess I kind of have one in my 03 G35 coupe .. so I cant complain too much.

My name is Rondal and I live in NC. I've lurked around on F/A for awhile and have to say I have been pleased with what I've seen.

I currently own a 1976 280Z and a 1997 240SX Se. My wife drives a 2002 Frontier Crew Cab V6 4x4. I've owned Nissan / Datsuns since 1986. I've had numerous Z Cars and a few of the S13 and S14 chassis cars

I guess that's it....:)

Hi Jennie :) how's the realestate market?

hi deathmage,
real estate market is doing alright despite what you hear on the news. yes, it's a lot slower than two-three yrs ago but it's in a good place for both buyers and sellers. for buyers, the prices are much more negotiable...and for sellers, the listing prices have not dropped drastically. every city is diff so let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi All,
New guy here but have been a member of other Nissan forums.
I traded my '95 GMC Sonoma KC 4x4 5sp manual for a 2K6 Nissan Frontier KC NISMO 6sp. Best decision I made as to which midsize truck is the best out there for my needs. Why a Frontier instead of a Canyon/Colorado......a 5cylinder does not belong in a pickup truck especially in a 4x4.
Nissan is light years ahead of GM, Ford and Dodge when it comes to midsize pickups. The only truck that comes close to the Frontier is the Tacoma. Apples to apples the Frontier has the edge in many areas that Tacoma was just lacking........IMHO...:comm:

Hi there im Andrew and i live in western australia and im a nissan nut. Ive owned a few nissans and im in my mid 40's. I have a 510 datsun with a sr20det on board which has run 11.0 @ 130mph in street trim. I'm new to this board, but not to Nissans. My name is Laken, I'm 28, and I live in an epic vortex of boredom known as Omaha. In the past I've owned a '71 240Z, '83 280ZX, '90 Stanza, '92 240SX, and I currently have an '89 240SX. I've also had 6 other vehicles but they weren't Nissans so they were substandard. My '92 S13 was about as performance mod'd as you could get it in '96, since almost everything had to be custom back then. My current S13 is basicly stock, but I'm working on changing that. I've worked for Midas, Tires Plus, Master Tune, Discount Tire Co., and a dump called AutoCoz. And I used to run a small DIY street racing club a long time ago. Don't ask me for pictures, I don't have a camera. I'm not the best tech out there, but I'll help with any questions I can. And if there are any other poor Nismophiles stuck around the same hell as me, let me know if ya need a hand with something. I spend alot of time being very bored.

Hey, I'm Dan. I'm 35 and live in Central Ohio. By trade I'm an ER nurse but by hobby work as team manager of RallyVW which runs a biodiesel powered VW Golf in G5 of Rally America. The team has done rather well save a serious lack of funds which is my fault which means I'm not very good at my job (so lets move on).

I am married for 6 years now to a wondeful woman who understands my need to love a very troubled football team (Cleveland Browns) and my love of driving cars maybe a little quicker and harder than I should.

For the past few years I have been doing rather un-natural things to a VW Golf TDI in the hopes of making it one of the more capable VW TDIs in the Americas. I was able to do that but in the end its sorta like having the best pig at the fair. No matter what I did the car was 3000lbs of nose heavy touring car. Please don't get me wrong, its a lot of fun getting 45mpg with better than 300lb ft of twist while beating up on Mini Cooper S's at track days but I want to beat up on Vettes and 911s, nuff said.

This brings me to my new car. Our Rally teams chassis guy wanted me to get a Miata and lord knows they are FAST and easy on the wallet but I wanted something with a roof and a bit more room. Hello 240sx! I recently bought a 1995 SE and will be building it into a street/track hybrid. I will be following the same line of thinking that I did with my Golf which is to go for substance over style and function over bling. I tend to like bling free to be honest but thats just me.

I like the fact that this board seems to have a lot of folks who may be a bit more mature and there also seems to be a lot of hard core tech kicking around. This is a good thing.

I hope to add to the mix and kick in where i can. If folks have questions, thoughts or needs feel free to drop me a note.

By the way... here are some pics of my baby. I miss her but she had to go so I could get something with bigger teeth.

Don't ever remember if I formally intro myself on this forum but here goes.
I also live in a dismal place called Maine at least IMHO. It's called Vacation Land but that's their opinion.
I've owned a few Nissan auto's like a 1985(?) 200sx. Love the car and it's looks but it was a POS. It's too bad it was a lemon.
I also owned a 1987 1/2 Nissan Hardbody pickup 4cyl 5sp basic as they come.
Now I own a 2k6 Nissan Frontier NISMO 4x4 6sp and all I can say is WOW!! God I love the power on this baby. Installed a INJEN CAI yesterday and it's awsome. I can't wait till I get an after market ECM mod for this baby...:woohoorun:
I belog to a couple of other forums and this one is one on the more quite ones......:(

Thanks for the welcome Byron. I got back home last night about 11:30pm CDT. I have nothing more to say than WOW. The drive back, although tiresome, was awesome. The car ran well. The work by Kevin and the guys at Enjuku was exceptional - very clean and professional under the hood. Estevan did an great job with the wiring harness and the other work he did. Ray's assistance throughout the build was spot on. As for Scott's Tune I could not be more Pleased. What a wonderful Job!

Helloooooooooooo Fresh Alloy!! Pamela here, I'm a lover of all things Nissan, especially the Z's!! I even have a Z tat and a Mr. K bobblehead toy!

My LeMans Sunset babe is a 2004 Enthusiast full of mods. No performance mods (well the pop charger) yet and I'm working on body parts for my own personalized look. My Z will be 3 in May 07 and she'll be sporting the new look then! (has Zaino been added to the mod list yet?? My Z bathes in it)

Turned on to this site by Lee (HKS is for real BABY) and I'll be a contributing writer to Nissan Sport magazine in the future.

I love to track HPDE (2 events to date) & want to learn AUTOX and Drift one day. I belong to several motorsport clubs and Z websites and one car club in Tampa: 350Z Club of Florida!! It helps that my son JC (Zilvia) loves Nissan cars like I do.

Name's Jonathan. I actually joined about eight months ago, but never posted till now.

I own a '92 S13 SE automatic coupe. It's my daily beater. It's got undercarrage rot, multiple engine problems, a malfunctioning HUD, about 250K on the clock, and a host of other problems. It starts every morning, though, and it can still run hard (provided it feels like it). I came here for technical advice but so far the car's only broken down on me once (alternatior) and my dad insisted I bring it to a shop for repair. I'm hoping that by the end of the month, I will replace it with an S13 fastback in better condition. My ultimate goal is to build a Sileighty clone for street and occasional track day use. If I can find my digital camera, I'll post pics of it in the 240SX Basic section.

Well, my name is Erik. I'm from Illinois and I'm 16 years old.

I just got my driver's license last March which is also the day I got my Z with 6MT. I'm the one who paid the down payment in which I was saving since 1995. Parents are the one paying monthly and for insurance. The car has 672 miles on the odometer. Its currently stocked in my garage for now since it snowed here today in Illinois and would probably buy 1.8S Sentra for the winter. I hope to learn more about my 350Z and meet different kinds of people who has the same interests as I do about cars! I will post pictures as soon as I get time. Thanks!

By the way, my dad and I share the same account because he owns an Infiniti G35 Coupe.

18 years old, Full time student for fire protection/firefighting in Toronto Ontario, live in mississauga, I just bought a 1995 240sx SE with about 92,000 miles for about 7 grand b4 taxes. Clean title, quiet happy. Previous cars include 1998 Land Rover Range Rover 4.0L (reason i sold it was the fact that burns so damn much for my drive to school) , and then P.O.S 95 Civic DX. I got 3 speeding tickets already from the previous cars and i have only had my license for 10 months.

g'evening fellas,
I'm Chris and I've been abusing my S13 for the better part of two years. I've used this forum for a lot of info in the past so I figured I would join up and contribute a bit back ;)

And to paul from sweden, your S15 is absolutly astounding! I have a Volvo 244 that I am restoring as a daily driver, any chance you might be able to get me some parts cheap?

Hello FA, my name is Ryan and I am a new member to the forum. Some of you may already know me, I am a member of NICO, Zilvia, Ka-T, 240sxforums, Chicagoarea240sx, and a few other smaller ones. I have been a 240 owner for a little over a year now. I do not plan on leaving it any time soon.

I currently own a 1989 240sx Hatchback with a Ka24De Swap. In fact, I am parting out that 240 in order to purchase another. The previous owner misrepresented the Hatch and I thought I could make it work, but the price of that work can come out to about 2/3 of the price of a new one.

I am not looking to go with an Sr20DeT swap like other "New-Comers" I am actually looking to do a Ka24DeT Engine. With shops like AMS/Turbo240 down the street, It will be alot easier for me to succeed. I am hoping that this forum, amoung the others, can help me as well. Also keep the KaT on the downlow, we do not want the Sr20 owners to find out that we are better then them, thanx.

But yea I got so many plans for my next Hatch that I wasn't able to put into my last. Many people think that being young is a bad thing because "They are young/immature and their mindset for their car isn't all that great" Well i see me being young gives me more time to learn and have just that many years to put my 240 together then you did starting at 21+.

So Hello :)

Parts will probobly be cheaper in the US.
I know that alot of people import Volvos from the states because they're cheaper there.

I've owned a few 240s. I bought my first back in 97, it was a 91 LE. I currently have a 91 with Super Hicas. Mine are mostly stock, but I enjoy 240 or Nissan based forums. I enjoy seeing other people's projects and keeping current with the 240 scene.

Ony two of these are in my name. The one on the far left is the Hicas, the one in the middle is what's left of the LE and the one on the right is now a nephews car.

See you on the forums...........

Hello all. My name is Amir and I live on the WestCoast, San Diego to be exact. I've been lurking for a good time but thought I would intro myself. I am also on Zilvia, Club240, NICO, and SDDrift. I drive a S13 coupe with a SR20 (of course) and minor bolt-ons for now. Really wanted to do a KA-T, or RB, but money and oppurtunity guided me to the SR. I love it though. I've been into Nissan mostly, but also leans toward Toyota till they went on a save the environment trip. Which is all good, but some of us like to smoke our tires. Well if anyone has questions feel free to ask, and if your local and need help hit me up and I'll see if I can help. Peace.

Whaddup fellas. My name is Mark & I got a 91 Galant VR-4 1778/2000. I'm usually over on galantvr4.org. I run Denso 660s, Evo16G, 3" turbo back exhaust, Whinebro 255, braided fuel lines, Eclipse front & rear subframes w/ 5 lug swap & deleted all wheel steering. Kept the bigger GVR4 front brakes, Whiteline springs on AGX's, Cusco strut bars & a Whitline rear sway bar. I run a modified side mount intercooler for now cause its plenty for the turbo & lose my sleeper status, but my Tial 44mm wastegate & Tial BOV don't help much. I run a 3g Eclipse MAS that my ECU is chipped for along with my injectors, 93oct fuel reset, studderbox & a bunch of other goodies. The chip puts ECU almost right on but I fine tune with my AFC2. Removed the balance shafts from the motor & put on a Buschur head. I have always loved 240s & will be looking to buy one early next summer so I figured I might as well hop on here now and get things going. Hello again.

Nice car - looked on your site and was admiring its clean setup and the long list of mods.

You have a wierd pit crew though, I think it would be difficult to work with a cone on your head, especially if it's over your eyes! But then again, maybe they have ESP or The Force or something ....

We have lots of Koukis on FA, and some of them even own the car too. :D Enjoy!

We are set up and designed to host meetings and events for clubs like yours. We will be offering the space at no charge to hold car club meetings over the next few months. We have parking for over 100 cars if needed, and can easily hold 200 plus people inside. We also have at your disposal a full integrated audio video system with 150" big screen. Coffee service available, Pool table, Xbox PS2 ect, Showroom space for show cars, and much more. We will carry a full line of performance and service parts for all makes and models. Use our free pic hosting gallery (see link in the upper left of your screen), there are no size or quantity restrictions! You can't beat that!

However, if you are posting a pic into the forums, take it easy on the resolution. This is so the pic isn't so large that others have to scroll to see it - that's very frustrating and makes it hard to really appreciate the car.

whats up? im chaz. after about 4 years of not having the money to get a 240, i finally found a s13 coupe with a sr. bought it for a good deal with a blown head gasket, went the optimistic route and bought parts. its currently sitting in pieces will i wait to get the head resurfaced and/or get another head. anyway, i plan on doing some drifting this season just to do it. ill more than likely stick to auto x. for now im just aiming to have around 275-300whp. nexts mods will be a fuel system upgrade, boost controller, koyo rad, and some other lil things.
but as the car sits it has the following:
ebay fmic
ebay dp
apexi n1 coilovers
unknown sway bars
front and rear strut tower braces
blitz bov
stripped interior
vlsd
walbro fuel pump

waiting to go on the car-
momo competition steering wheel
greddy ras
cometic hg

Hello to all out there! I am new thanks to a google search in which I found a pic of a G35 sedan. I have 2 G35s, a coupe & sedan (his & hers so to speak),
the coupe is an 06' 6MT, and the sedan is the family ride.

For some strange reason, I'm wanting to fix hers up instead of mine, again the pic I found from the google search added to that. It's a blk sedan with what looks to be chromed 20s and the perfect tire/stance combo. I would like to duplicate somewhat, but I don't know how to post a pic of it, and I know someone out there will recognize it imediately, and hence I can get the info from the owner.

Could someone tell me how to add the pic or help with a work around this problem.

Thanks in advance!

John,

First of all - welcome! :) The family that G's together, stays together! Okay, so I'm not a poet.

Could you give us an idea of which pic you're talking about (a thread title or preferably the URL of the thread?)

We do have a free photo hosting service here on FA (see upper left of the FA title banner.) All you have to do is click on it and follow directions. Once you do that you're only a few steps away from posting pics (I can send you directions on that if you need them.)

Let us know John.

Riffster,

Thanks for the quick response here. Sure I'd like to know how to post the pic.
Would it be "with" the thread in regards to the wheel/tire combo, or would it be separate in a different section of the site.

Email me and I'll reply back with the attach. When I followed the link of the google search (of the car) it brought me to this site but to an unrelated thread, so I dont have an acurate url for the pic, it's just sitting on my desktop.

Thanks again!

I'll e-mail this evening okay? My lunch break is about over! :o

I will send you a URL for a thread with pic download instructions included in it as well at that time.

As to appropriate posting area - the G35 forum would be the best place I would think!

What's going on, the name is crash33 I have been around the threads for a little bit. A week or more ago I pick up a 93 240sx that was in pretty good condiction just a few things had to be fixed like powersteering, timing chain, and other little stuff. It runs fine and I am hoping to do a turbo on it soon or within the next couple of months. I am hoping to learn a lot from you guys and hope one day I can help you out as well.

Hi Everyone.

I'm new to the forum. My previous car was a 1998 maxima with a swapped 2004 VQ35DE engine. Now I have a 97 240sx with an SR20DET that I just bought a week and a half ago. So far I'm loving it, but I feel the itch to get more power. This is my first turbocharged motor, so I'm hoping to learn a lot from those with more experience.

hello im new to this site........recently just purchased a 92 240sx fastback, sold my 90 240sx fastback, im fairly new to this 240 scene so im in need of assistance. The 92 i just purchased, the odometer(mile counter) and mph isnt working but the rest of the gauges do. Also this morning when i started the car up it took three tries, the first two times it felt like i didnt step on the clutch all the way in, the third time i made sure i did and it started. Could this be because of stage 3 clutch? or starter? please any advice would be deeply appreciated.

thanks

Hi, I'm new to the US (I moved here from Europe). I've been a Nissan enthusiast for many years now.

I'M SHOCKED that people in the US don't see the brand as I do - I guess it's stronger in Europe.

How can I convince my colleagues that Nissan is great? (they think it odd that I should love the company and its cars so much).

In short, if I had to answer the question "WHY NISSAN?" what should I tell them?

Thanks from a fellow Nissan enthusiast!

Guess I'll make a post in the n00b thread -

I'm Ashley, and my car is a '95 black TT 300ZX that I've now owned for three years (in 9 days), and I've loved every minute of it, though I've done my fair share of cursing at it while turning wrenches on it. Right now it's down due to toasty turbos - if any of you were at the ECZA meet a few weeks back (hi William!), that was me smokescreening the place - sorry 'bout that!

So currently it's sitting and waiting for me to finish collecting my Big Box of Parts to install to make it all better. That project should be coming up in a month or so.

A few photos:

http://www.ttxtz.com/pix/my_z/images/DSCF1017.jpg

http://www.ttxtz.com/pix/my_z/images/DSCF1022.jpg

I keep a website about my Z and Z-related information: http://www.ttxtz.com
And spend way too much time in the garage helping out on other Zs. But I love every minute of it. ;-)

Looking forward to meeting some of you once my Z is up and running again!

HELLO, ITS CHIRAG
I HAVE A 2007 M35 SPORTS.
I WANNA PUT STAGGERED FITMENT WHEELS ON IT
I M THINKING ABT 20X8.5(front) and 20x10(rear)
If anyone has any info on this, please lemme know
I am not sure if 20x10 will b fine for the rear or not.
