I've been doing some research on purchasing a "legal" R33 or R34 & I would like to solicate everyone's feedback on this.

While, I understand a car is not an investment, I would like to understand how much the value of a legal imported R32, R33 & R34 will drop after the new Nissan Skyline R35 becomes available in the US.

I believe these are the current ranges for legal cars, depending on mods & condition:

R32 - $40,000 - $65,000

R33 - $55,000 - $75,000

R34 - $95,000 +

How much could these cars decrease in value after the R35 becomes available? 10% - 20% or more?

I understand a lot depends on how "tunable" the R35 is & their price (I believe will be $75,000), but would that cause the demand for the older Skylines in the US to drop?

I would like to hear thoughts on this.

Thanks-Big Boost

WTF is an R35?

I don't forsee prices for skylines to drop much when the next GT-R is released, as they are totally different cars in every aspect. However I think it is too early to make any sort of definitive call on this because almost nothing is known for sure about the new GT-R- just about all the 'info' out there is speculation at this point.

Samurai SAm I do believe the poster posed a good question.

However I wlould agree that while there will be an effect it wont be as huge as some might think.

For the R33/32 especially it might not be all that noticable at all.

I never said it wasn't a good question, and I answered it in a pretty straightforward manner - I don't think prices are going to drop much if at all.

Maybe I should have put a smiley after the "R35" comment or whatever.

Well the new GTR will be a base $100,000 car, so it may help the price of our cars.

Which would be nice....since one insurance company (I won't name names just yet) tried to tell me my vehicle is the equivalent of a Nissan Sentra valued at a whopping $5100.00 USD.

Not what I agreed to when I origainally insured the vehicle........
