Oh I think we'd all love to see one. I've been harping on this for a while now, but with the eruption of war in Lebanon, and Iran threatening to help it's hezbollah allies, we're looking at 4-5 dollar gas in the next few years, and this segment is going to be the hottest for the next year. The Versa is nice for buyers looking to move a class down because it doesn't sacrifice passenger space for mileage.

That being said ( and please don't turn this into a political conversation) this is what I'd like to see the Versa lineup do in the next year. this is all my rampant imagination, and it's probably too much but let me know what you think!

Versa 1.8S - 12,500 - same
Versa 1.8SL - 14,500 - same
Versa 1.8 SE - 14,000 - same with tighter springs, 15 in performance tires. maybe an advanced timing 5-10 more HP with requirements for silver or premium fuel. less convenience items in the base package, but able to get those in the SE convenience package. (similar to the 03-05 Maxima SE-SL package)
Versa 2.0 SE-R CVT - 16,500 - Available in 5 door hatch and 3 door hatch versions. MR20 Engine. stiff springs. 16 in low profiles,
Versa 2.0 SE-R 6 speed - 16,500 - same deal but with a limited slip
Versa 2.0 SE-R Sport - 19,500 - the clio sport treatment ala sport concept, 3 door hatch only. limited run (1k-1500?)

God i would buy this car in an instant if they had an SE-R version. A FREAKIN VERSA COUPE TO SMASH THE HONDA HATCHBACK RICERS>!!!! They should give the Versa SE-R the SpecV Engine. OMG u dont know how much i would love this Car.

The MR20DE and a sport suspension would do alot for the Versa. I forgot where but I've suggested a similar setup.

That engine is junk, they should just turbo or better yet supercharge the 2.0. and maybe make it all whel drive, remember it still has to compete with the 300hp dodge caliber wich is a freeking monster.

You can have your 300HP Dodge Caliber. I'd take a Versa with HP around 200HP over that any day. I want performance and reliability. Besides, the Caliber looks like a slightly nicer Aztec, which isn't saying much.

True, but have you heard one yet, they are the first production car without a muffler, they just have resonators. In my opinion they are the best sounding production 4 cyl (non motorcycle) I have ever heard. If they made them all wheel drive I would consider getting one.

I'd rather look good than sound good.

Understandable but I like go more than show, and yes they are butt ugly.

I have to agree on that. Dodge, it seems, can't come up with anything except different sizes of trucks. Even all their cars have the front end of a truck. "Come to Dodge and you can buy any vehicle as long as it looks like a truck. Our vehicles come in XXL (Ram) XL (Durango) Large (Dakota) Medium Large (Magnum) Medium (Charger) and Small (Caliber)." :p

I too prefer "go" more than "show". However, when the "show" looks like a Dodge Caliber, I'll take less "go" and more "show" from a different package.

I always thought it would be fun to have an ugly car that could whoop up on 90% of cars on the road. I mean they are ugly....like new born porcupine ugly...but not aztec ugly. Im not saying the caliber srt can kill 90% of cars on the road but hell if someone said here is an Aztec that looks stock, runs tens, and handles better than a Porsche Camen S I would take it and rock it untill either me or the car dies.
