My 69 year old friend Monica bought a Versa today. She replaced a Buick LeSabre and probably would have bought another Buick--but only if the LeSabre was still made.

She hates the exterior styling, loves the soft seats and interior space and the gas mileage with the CVT.

Errrm... I don't know how much I trust the opinion of person who bought a Buick Lesabre and then slags the exterior appearance of the Versa. However, she can't think that badly of the Versa since she bought one!

I work next to a Nissan/Infiniti dealership and saw my first Versa a few days ago. The side profile is a little more plain than I expected.

Is this a joke? Or a female buyer?

heh. that's cool that it's appealing to an older crowd too. I'm pretty surprised that she really likes the cvt, though I guess it's not much different than the changes from standard to automatic.

did she look at the fit and yaris as well?

We test drove a Focus, Fit, Mitsubishi Lancer and a Subaru Forrester along with the Versa.

She thought the Focus was boring. She thought the Lancer was most attractive. Forrester most versatile and she thought the Fit was the most incredibly ugly and oddly shaped car on the road.

We didn't test drive the Yaris simply because there were none available to test drive. As soon as she sat in the Versa, I knew she would buy it.

hmm. that's interesting that she thinks the fit is ugly. I do as well, but coming from a 69 year old woman, that's interesting.
