Saw it waiting at a traffic light. It was blue and being driven by a middle-age woman. It was nice to see that it had found a home with someone. I imagine it won't be long before they are a common sight on the roads.
But where is the advertising for this car?

I'm in Denver and have yet to see one on the roads. They are in such short supply as of July '06, there's no real need to push much advertising yet. The Nissan 'Shift 2.0' campaign is ramping up and will also promote the new Maxima, Sentra and Altima.

I've seen a blue Versa in my neighborhood (someone in my neighborhood owns one) several times and the first thing that struck me was how surprising big the vehicle is. Lengthwise, the Versa five-door hatchback is probably almost the same length as my 1998 Honda HX CVT coupé!

Saw another on Sunday. It was black and looks quite nice in that color.

Saw one on the highway last night.
It was dark out so I wasn't sure what it was.

Saw 3 Versa here in Ottawa, Canada yesterday. Are these things starting to sell well or what? Let's see....one in red (w/cute girl driving), one blue and another black. I would say the black and red Versa look the best. The blue was ok.
If this is any indication to the future sales of the Versa, I'd say that Nissan has a winner on its hands. I can't wait to see more of them on the streets. I've only seen one Fit (driven by an old man) so far tho. There are quite a few Yaris on the streets as well but the Versa looks much better in real life.

Saw another one in NYC last night, only the rear though, but it looked pretty cool.

I saw one for five days- I was driving it from Austin, TX back to Colorado! Actually, it was my Mom's CVT and ABS-packaged SL model. She picked Fresh Powder (white) with the upgraded charcoal interior and I was impressed with way Nissan sweated the details on this new model.
You can expect a more comprehensive piece in Nissan Sport Magazine about my cross-country experiences in the Versa. Hope all you Versa fans will be interested enough to subscribe!

I saw 4 Versa on my USAFR weekend in San Antonio, TX. They look really good. I doesn't have that Tall retarded look like the rest of its class. Although it is tall. I saw 2 Blue ones, 1 smoke one, and a black one. One of the blue ones had wheelcovers and it actually didn't look bad.

I see 1 or 2 versas everyday in LA. They actually look very good and blow the compitition away. The car looks great for what it was built to do.

I just saw 2 Versa's again today. One was blue and the other was white. The one in white had nice alloy wheels and looked good.
For the month of September 2006, the Versa sales did quite well vs its competitors. Here is a breakdown of the sales numbers (previous month sales in bracket):
September Sales
Nissan Versa:
4729 units (3832 units in Aug 06)
Toyota Yaris:
7534 units (11392 units in Aug 06)
Honda FIT:
1986 units (2394 units in Aug 06)
I truely think Nissan has got a winner in its hands. While the much touted competitors of the Versa had a drop in sales, the Versa had an increase. I spoke to my dealer and was told that the CVTs are popular amongst Versa buyers. I hope Nissan can keep up the sales momentum.

I forgot that the Versa Sedan still has to come out so there just might be hope of the Versa outselling the Yaris when the sedan comes out. I really really hope so. And it is a very strong showing for the Versa to make an increase while the others decreased. Wow the Fit is doing horrible or are those numbers on target for what Honda wanted?

Good point there about the Versa sedan, NissLover. The sales numbers should be higher if the sedan comes into the picture.
According to other forums, the justification for the slow sales of the FIT is capacity. Hmmm.. I now see more Versa than FITs here in Ottawa, Canada. The Yaris for some reason is selling...maybe just because it's a Toyota. IMHO, it looks bad and I've see the car's interior, it looks cheap. The Versa has better quality materials used for its interior.
