Toyota has apparently found a fix for the engine RPM spiking on shifts from 3rd to 4th gear in their 2007 Camrys. It involves replacing a part in the transmission. Go to: http://photos.imageevent.com/fjcruiser/fjcruiserfirstalbum/07_camry_shift_flare_tsb.pdf
Another major transmission problem with faulty snap-rings in early builds has also been fixed.
Still to be solved are hestitation problems, which raises a major safety issue. And, problems with cruise control and erratic downshifting and upshifting on hills.
It is unfortunate that Toyota starting selling the 2007 Camry before they had adequately tested the vehicle, and fixed engineering problems.
